I will start with the CON ! Do NOT get sucked into the sales pitch for tours the morning after your arrival. Dexter is a private tour guide and has nothing to do with hotel although it is made to sound that way by Alvira ! He pressurise you to book tours with him there and then .Don't ! His prices are ridiculous, look on line or go to Store bay or Pigeon point where you will find many others. The worst con was the tour ?? to Sunday school at Buccoo Bay ! He charges $30 x 2 per couple !! It's only just up the road get a taxi for less than half and get another couple too and it's quarter of the price. It's also not really worth going to,there were no craft stalls ,only a few food stalls which were not good.Dexter stopped on way back at a street stall elsewhere ,where we waited 15 mins for him to buy decent food ! This is not like a jump up in other islands, they were mainly playing American pop music and not busy at all.Give it a miss or go by taxi ,not worth ;$60 for a ride and a drink in a bar. We paid $65 each for Turtle tour. He wanted to take us away from Sunday school and show us turtles on same night. We said NO.Why would we pay $130 plus 65 ! He gets a call from a mate saying where turtles are ,takes you ,miss them coming out of sea ,probably laid eggs when you get there .Hence why he could take us in middle of other tour ! Go with Peter Cox full 3 hrs seeing all for only 40 not 65 each.Snorkling, nylon pool No man's from hotel to Buccoo $40 Captain Phillips 120with Dex.No food buy own on island.Peter tailors tours of Island around $75.He is a naturalist and we did tour of rainforest where we saw rare mating dance of blue backed manikin birds. He knows everything about all flora and fawna ,highly recommend. We were out 3 hrs watching turtles. In SHORT don't get ripped off look around. There is NO paperwork with Dexter and I Imagine he has no insurance !! Sorry but so angry he is allowed by hotel to do this. Another con is that you cannot enter sea at resort but store bay is nearby walk and shuttle to Pigeon pt and Mt Irvine is free. All lovely beaches The restaurant in hotel is terrible we went to Crown pt hotel for meals also Brown Cow more expensive but good The PROs of hotel are staff are lovely especially Cliff in the bar.Hotel grounds well kept and rooms spotlessly clean, rooms are large but need refurb but quite adequate.

We booked a vacation to Tobago and stayed at Sandy Point. We had a nice room with a spectacular view of the sunset. We enjoyed the steel pan man and the limbo man, who performed at the resort. The staff were all friendly. We had the pleasure of meeting a tour man from Tobago named Dexter, Island Man Tour. We enjoyed the all day safari, snorkeling/reef/nylon pool and leatherback sea turtles. Mr. Dexter was very informative, friendly, professional, down to earth, and honest. My four kids absolutely loved him and they called him a new Uncle in Tobago. Our trip to Tobago was truly once in a lifetime experience because of Dexter Island Man Tour. I highly recommend him to everyone coming to Tobago looking for a fun time.

Sandy point staff was very friendly. I enjoyed the view. I have to say I really enjoyed meeting Dexter ( island man tour) he was so friendly. He showed us what the real Tobago is. The tour was amazing he made us all feel like family. I made a mistake and booked my tour the day I was flying back. He was kind enough to drop me to the airport after the tour. That is excellent customer service. Whenever I go back to Tobago I will definitely call Mr Dexter for his tours. He has a fun personality , very knowledgeable and got jokes for days. 🌴🙂

Great little resort. We went with our family. A one bedroom and and two bedroom. The resort needed an update, but it was very islandy, but nice. The staff was phenomenal, very helpful and friendly, Tasha, Elvira, Simon , Cliff just to mention a few, though ALL staff was great. The shop was very well stocked, and offered something for everyone. The prices were very reasonable. The beach was rocky, so you couldn't swim, but there were other beaches nearby. The view from our units was fantastic, pool and hot tubs were great. Grounds person out every day tweaking the grounds. The restaurant was very good. Cliff and his wife manned the bar, and were very very personable. Tasha was very helpful with information, Elvira with transportation, Simon with maintenance. We had an issue with hot water, but it was fixed in a timely manner. The front desk and the shop persons were very friendly and informative. We enjoyed this little resort so much that we booked to come again in the fall. There were some that complained about a lot of things, from the tour guide Dexter to the resort, but I believe that they would have complained about just everything, some people you can't please. We got good value from our tour guide Dexter, and he took us to places and extended his tour so that he gave us the best at his own expense. We were there the same time as the negative posting from May by Shelli, and if you check out Island Man Tours on TripAdvisor, all those reviews can't be wrong. Dexter was very good and we enjoyed his tours immensely....he went the extra mile......we have done tours around the world and must say that Dexter was the best. Offered what no other tour guide do.....

Nice basic place, friendly, clean. Not a "gold star resort" though. Food mediocre with a rocky beach. Our 2 bedroom unit was clean and large with the 2nd bedroom upstairs with its own bathroom and shower. The only thing I would caution is NOT to join a so called tourist guide named Dexter, who pretends to be affiliated with the resort and is a con man. He charges double what other true tourism guides charge and has no brochure, price sheets, insurance, or credit card capability (so you cannot question his ethics with your credit card company.) etc.

This hotel is in a great location to access the beaches. There is no wifi in the rooms, only in public spaces like the lobby and bar. There is no local phone service in the rooms. Front desk explained that bmobile does not work in the area, so basically you can’t make or receive calls unless you go to a main area. The pillows seem to be chair cushions as they are half the size of a regular pillow and squishy, no support. The towels are old. The beds matresses have no support. Overall the hotel needs a full upgrade. I won’t recommend it. Not value for money.

Every Employee Staff was Friendly, Courteous and tried to be helpful. The Resort is in need of major maintenance and updating. From the wobbly almost disconnected faucet in our bathroom to the Chaise Lounges & cushions that were not in great shape The restaurant was mostly closed. The Bar was Great

This was our first time staying at Sandy Point Beach Club and we enjoyed our stay there very much. To be honest I don't think anyone would say it's 5 star accommodation but it is very comfortable and very clean and tidy. All the staff were friendly. The bar area is very welcoming. with a wide range of beers, spirits and cocktails, it also boasts the best sunsets on the island. There are a number of barbecues located around the grounds which is a great idea, we used them several times during our stay. The restaurant alongside the bar was a bit dissapointing which was a shame as it has great potential, the service was very slow, we only ate there once, that really needs some attention. Pigeon Point is only a 10 minute drive away which is a must go to. Store Bay is also a great beach and only a fifteen minute walk away if you don't want to drive. Finally we were introduced to Dexter (Island Man Tours) who arranged several trips for us while we were there, we enjoyed them very much, well organised and great fun.

Another wonderful vacation at Sandy Point Beach Club. We have been holidaying at SPBC each year since 2001 apart from the Covid years. The staff are excellent (too many to mention everyone), and nothing is too much trouble. The site manager Wesley is customer focussed and keen to ensure that we have a good time. We went on lots of organised trips with the on-site organiser Dexter and they were fantastic even though many of them we have done before. These included a boat trip to see Buccoo Reef and Nylon Pool, snorkelling and a beach BBQ, A trip to Little Tobago and best of all a night trip to see Turtles laying their eggs on the beach. . this was magical and worth missing sleep for. A new trip for us was to see the Bio-luminescence near the mangrove swamps. Dexter is keen to please and his beach BBQ food is excellent as is his homemade rum punch. The on-site restaurant needs improvement, very limited choice and slow service but there are many other eating places locally within a 20 minute walk, and yes, Tobago is a safe and friendly place. The bar offers a good range of cocktails and as the beach faces west, the sunsets are amazing. We miss the hut at the end of the jetty that has been lost but hopefully will be replaced soon. We played golf at Plantations course which can be windy as it is on the Atlantic side of the island. The other course Mount Irvine is currently closed but we hope to see that reopening when we return next year. I recommend this resort for its location, friendly staff and excellent climate.
