I needed this room booked at the last minute and the staff were extremely kind and accommodating. I never heard of this place however looking at pictures, I was sold and was not disappointed. Upon booking, I was told I could only book a room with breakfast which was disappointing as I had breakfast planned for the next day with someone and therefore it would simply be a waste and I think this is something which should be contemplated by management. I arrived early ( just before 9am) and was warmly greeted. Check In was a breeze and I left for my day of activities before returning close to check- in time. When I got my room I thought it was cute and comfortable however, my phone was not working which was an inconvenience when I tried to reach the front desk. I returned to the hotel at just after 8 and was surprised to see an event happening ( which was not mentioned at check-in). Now I have no issue with events however some communication would be nice. It would be even more appreciated when there is to be loud music playing. This, which continued until close to midnight was an annoyance and cause me distress as I wished to rest for my hard day ahead. I was able to leave my bag at reception in the morning which was convenient. The shuttle service to the beach was also a nice plus for which eased the stress of me organizing transport to and from the beach. All in all, I believe I would be returning to this hotel in the future.

If i had known when making a booking that they were doing construction by building other cabanas by the pond room i would not have stayed here. Men come to work before 7 am so its like an alarm clock so if u plan to stay in during the day dont bother noise for so and remind the receptionist to let the workers secure the make shift door to the construction site bcus if high winds and rain at night it sounds like a haunted manison and the rains blows in the wooded pond rooms soak the wood and water comes in. The pool is not for short ppl and be careful when going in the silver railing is shaky so careful u slip n break yuh back side. The pond room cabana is split into two indvidual room not suited for couples possibly one person as its tiny space so dont be fool by the photos u see online there are old pics from 6 years ago when u think u getting whole cabana. The restuarant mostly empty during the day Breakfast choices pancakes sausage eggs beans cabbage mix up wth boodi and pachoi some days eggs and potato and fruit watermelon. Dinner package same menu to choose from and starter soup is soup for the entire week it better to go elsewhere possibly milford strecth and try variety of food places there. There is one server in orange jersey slim girl if u get her u would know her attitude stinks the other nights pleasant ladies that give u recommendation and options. I wont be staying here again location is good as it 3 min drive from airport and 15 min walk to beach.

Went for lunch, 6 of us. Slow to get drinks, waitress kept disappearing for 20 mins at a time. Only 25% of the meals were available 1 hour to not get our meals, as the chips came 30 mins after the burgers. 2 of the burgers arrived with the chips. Never offered any more drinks Quite expensive and completely useless. I pity the people after us. They were already complaining as we left.

For a place this beautiful I really expected the food to be top notch. The breakfast wasn't all that. I expected at least some waffles and bacon. Everyday was watermelon as if there was no other fruit on the planet. The only thing I could say tasted really good was the pina colada. Also, the receptionist was lovely. Overall, I won't return here.

I took my dad to Shepherd's Inn for a birthday celebration In August. Everyone at this quaint boutique hotel went above and beyond to make our stay exceptional. We arrived in the afternoon and were picked up after a short wait at the airport. Being greeted by a very friendly Mrs. Shepherd and a beautifully decorated room for my dad's birthday, made him feel special right from the start. Dinner at Betsy Hope restaurant was delicious! I highly recommend the coconut shrimp and soursop ice cream for dessert. I would like to recognize the staff who all interacted with us in a friendly manner. Especially Jose-Ann (Mrs. Shepherd) who had to solve two minor emergencies for us on a Sunday. She went out her way to get someone to come to the hotel so I could purchase clothing items dad forgot to pack. When my niece showed up unexpectedly, she willingly accommodated her by adding a rollaway to our room. Melisa at Betsy Hope was simply the best server. She greeted us with a smile every night, chatted with my dad and remembered everything he liked, especially the amazing pepper sauce that was in short supply. She made sure he had some with his dinner every night. Special thanks to Samantha for the unique happy birthday decorations. Natalie at the front desk and the other lovely lady whose name I cannot remember, were always super friendly and helpful. Mr. Shepherd was always around doing everything, very friendly, and open to suggestions. This is a small hotel, and everything isn't perfect, but I highly recommend it for the sweet, comfy cabanas and personal touches.

The property is quaint and homey and just right for a one night stay. Check in was friendly and quick. Lots of parking and beautifully manicured grounds. The room was simple and clean. Bathroom/Shower was a tad small for my height (6'3"), but was not too uncomfortable and was most importantly clean. Breakfast is included and would do just right to start your day; breakfast staff were not as friendly as check in staff. Overall great price but would not recommend for a long term stay.

Shepherd's Inn came highly recommended so I made a booking and paid as required. I also sent our flight details and requested a car rental. A week before my stay, I sent 2 e-mails about the car rental and received no response. I called 3 days before and the vehicle was confirmed via telephone. I was also informed that upon arrival at the airport in Tobago, to call them and a shuttle would pick us up. First, I called 7 times before I got through. When someone finally answered, she seemed confused that a pickup was required and I was collecting a vehicle to return at a later time for check in. All this information was contained in our email exchanges. We had to wait at the airport for a minimum of 45 minutes to an hour before a vehicle came for us. My sister in law and her husband came in on the red eye flight from Canada so they were exhausted. It was a party of 5 persons and 1 vehicle came and we were told that they will have to make 2 trips. Thankfully I saw a friend at the airport who assisted with transportation to avoid any further wait. Upon arrival at Shepherd's Inn, the receptionist had no clue about the vehicle rental and thankfully I had a paper trail to show otherwise. We had to wait another 45 mins for them to organize the vehicle so that we could leave to get breakfast. Almost 2 hrs of our day wasted because of incompetence. I called the person who recommended the place and shared my dissatisfaction so she made a call on my behalf. I was informed by her that the manager will speak with me when I returned for check in. I arrived around 3.30 pm for check in. We were all exhausted so we went to take a shower and relax. While my husband was taking a shower, the water stopped flowing. Admittedly I called the front desk to complain and the water was turned back on minutes later. Needless to say, the manager never spoke to me. We got up the following morning for breakfast which was an epic failure (watery coffee, tasteless food, an unpleasant server, and very limited portions). I then asked the receptionist to speak with the manager and was told that he was not there. I left my telephone number and asked for him to call me. I have since checked out without any communication whatsoever. I gave the opportunity to speak with management prior to posting this review but there was no communication. I am very disappointed with the service received.

There are a few plus to this hotel, the rooms are nice and the shuttle service was a nice addition as well, but the people made my experience truly unenjoyable. The customer service was extremely poor especially while they were serving the breakfast. The lady that was sharing the breakfast barked orders constantly at the guests, she seemed very uninterested in being there and was all round very rude. One of the drivers that picked my family up from the beach was not welcoming, he did not even reply to our greeting of "Good evening" he just said "Open the door they". When booking somewhere that you paid for with your hard earned money expecting relaxation and family bonding time, you would not want to feel like a burden and that is exactly how they made me feel. You pay for the place and the service that comes with it. FORTUNATELY I would not be going back there and I would advise anyone who asks me about this place N O T to as well <3

We arrived on Friday June 10th 2022, we came in on am early morning flight so we called the Shepperd's Inn reception for the shuttle to collect us. They arrived within a few minutes and took is to the Shepperds Inn. We were early so we were relaxing until the room was ready for checkin. We took the half board option ( breakfast and dinner) . The restuarant on the compound is not owned by Shepperd's Inn and the pool is along side the restuarant. We arrived for dinner and the server was not pleasant and hurried us off and was rushing to clear the table even before we finished having dinner. Day 2 : We arrrived for breakfast, all the portions were small and it is not buffet style. Day 2 Dinner : We arrived for dinner, no seasonded wedges were availble. The options were limited, after a few minutes the server came back and indictated that the Chef does not want to send out the chicken because it was too spicy, apparently he added too much cayenne pepper. The drinks for the half board dinner were non alcholic and still some drinks were unavailable Day 3 : Breakfast, no butter available to add to your toast and still small portions served. Day 3 : Dinner, the chicken still spicy, no creamy fish soup available, no seasoned wedges. Again, limited options. The servers were all unpleasant and discourteous Betsyhope's staff treated us as if were begging and that they were not wanted at their establishment. At a point it started to feel like it was a racist situation. Shepperd's Inn itself is nice and comfortable to stay. If you are visiting, it is recommeded that you don't use the restuarant service.

During Easer, my wife, her friend and me sent 10 days at the Shepherd's Inn. It was one of the most rewarding experience of our lives. One of the highlight's of my stay at the Shepherd's Inn, was that "Sheppy" took time out of his busy schedule to speak with me for a few minutes. I always admired this man, who basically put Tobago on the world stage - not because he created a large world-class hotel, but because he created an experience, Tobago of long ago, with all the nostalgia of a bygone era. The is the experience that today's discerning traveler is seeking and will go far and wide to find (at Shepherd's Inn, we found the authentic Tobago that we heard about and longed to experience). My wife's name is Anolia Guy-Smith and I am Derick Smith . My wife's from Tobago and me, Jamaican. We have property in Tobago (including a vacation home). I can't end this review without talking about the delicious breakfast, that bring back memories of home and family. Also, our stay at the Shepherd's Inn was blessed by Annmarie, who truly knows how to treat her quests, she was professional, hospitable throughout, and surely show that she cares for the quests comfort, including us. She made sure we feel comfortable and did every thing to ensure that we were enjoying the authentic and nutritious Tobagoan breakfast served at the Shepherd's Inn. With team members like Annmarie onboard, the hospitality and tourist sector in Trinidad and Tobago is in a good position (we need more people like her in sectors that serve people). He dedication to her job bring to mind her boss, Colin Shepherd, who with grit and determination created one of the best hospitality experience in the Caribbean.
