it was a nice experience in tobaga, a place very close to the popular pigeon point to go for buccoreef, etc...and also the most happening place.... staying home is like our own home, we have good privilege and the manager Mr. Andrew is like our family elder brother, takes care of the guests very nicely. i didn't have much time to stay in tobago, maybe during my next visit...

"Candles" is a great place to start your Tobago Experience at. Andrew will make you feel at home immediately. He is very knowledgeable and will help you make your stay in Tobago unique. I initially picked Candels due to its budget rates, especially if you travel as a Backpacker - but I stayed because it is a great place to meet travellers and locals, and its just 5 min walking distance to Swallow`s beach and another 10 minutes to Pidgeon Point, one of the most picturesque beaches in Tobago. I stayed three weeks and will be back, every time I am in Crown Point.

Excellent hospitality by Andrew the owner. He takes care of you well and offered us a tour of the island of tobago for 85usd/person. Great tour of the beaches and waterfalls and landmarks. Location of Candles is perfect - walking distance from the airport, beaches, restaurants, nightlife. A great way to meet people if travelling solo (though can depend on who else is staying). Single rooms were comfortable and clean.

Definitely a relaxing & memorable trip to the isle of Tobago! Andrew was truly the epitome of island hospitality. The weather was refreshingly cool (28°~29°) and aircon wasn't necessary at night time. Beaches close by (12 min walk), restaurants even closer with ample selections at average prices. The green luster of Tobago will forever linger indelibly!

Andrew is the perfect host, he helped me with all the information I need while planning my trip an also when I was already in the hostel, including to fix my bag that had a problem with the zipper. He gives all the important tips and advices about tours, how to get to differents points in the island, restaurants, supermarkets, exchanging money, etc... I met great people at the hostel thanks to him too. The hostel has a great location, near the airport, restaurants, bars, and bus stop, just short walking distance from 3 beaches in Crown Point.

There is an interesting feel to the guesthouse as there are many little knick knacks located at various locations throughout the spacious kitchen, living and dining rooms which the different guests shared. The kitchen was fully stocked with cooking utensils which we made full use of during our stay. We felt comfortable during our stay while the owner navigated amongst us performing various housekeeping tasks. He also demonstrates a sound knowledge on current as well as historical information about the island and the various activities taking place. He is warm, pleasant and has a light sense of humour. He is also fair and balanced when when addressing the various needs of the tenants. He also allowed us to leave our bags at the hotel and use the toilet and shower facilities after checkout as we had to wait 10 hours for our flight.

Had a lovely experience staying at Candles in the Wind. Would recommend to anyone to stay here. The owner was extremely warm and approachable. I stayed in the attic, at the time there was just one other person there who I never saw or heard. There was hot water in the showers, everything was well laid out. Lots of lounging around space and tables. My visit was short but everything I needed was well catered to. Would definitely stay here again.

We only stayed one night, but it was super comfortable, great AC and the host was extremely friendly and helpful. Stayed in a double room with ensuite and was very clean. Slightly dated stylistically, but that’s normal for the area and it was extremely comfortable. We’re sorry we couldn’t have stayed longer!

Great accommodation for a solo traveller. Very easy to get to (from both the ferry and i imagine the airport) and right in the heart of crown point meaning one car explore the strip and great beaches on offer without being dependent on a car. The host was great, providing some local insight for food, travel and was very easy to contact on whatsapp. Really appreciated the good and relaxed vibes on my stay here. Would thoroughly reccomend.
