This hotel has standard rooms to the front of the compound which are very affordable and targets guests who prefer budget friendly accommodations. However, recently the Pirates Bar which is located next to the hotel is being run under new management and their music level in the afternoon and night time is very disturbing for guests who prefer a quiet evening to chill on their room balconies. The Villa accommodations at the back of the compound is much quieter and cozy for families. The hotel is ideally located close to storebay and swallows beaches. We totally recommend this hotel for a budget friendly stay in Tobago.

I visited surfside for a three night stay. Ria at the front desk was EXCEPTIONAL... she was pleasant, professional and polite. Whilst I was admittedly disappointed with the room as it was a bit basic, the cleanliness and service at this guest house was 5 star! Also while the pools were small, they were always clean. To a showed me other rooms when I checked out that looked much better and I definitely will return.

I just wrote an extremely long review of this hotel right here and when it was time to post, it was loading for an HOUR and then vanished. See if you can get back my review Tripadvisor! Long story short- the reception, room, all staff (cleaning ladies, groundsmen and security) and location were excellent! Will definitely visit again!

I visited this hotel in December 2018 with my 2. Sisters and neice. the hotel was very quiet just 2 other set of quest beside our group. Is walking distance to resturants and taxi. We went to the beach and leave our personal stuff with some of our money in the room. The cleaner came and clean the room while we there and we give her a tip. While we were away at the beach the cleaner enter and took almost all the money evenCanadian $$ and the blue T&T $$$. The hotel went through the tapes from the camera and saw her enter into the room. Long story short the police found the money and the Canadian $$ and the receipt of a phone that she purchase. Be careful of Surfside no apology from the management the police say its a minor case no money was return to us??????

This hotel is in an ideal location, however, the owners should invest in the hotel and upgrade it. I was very disappointed once I walked into the room. That very night I made reservations to stay at another hotel on the island. I was booked for 2 nights and the owner did give me a refund for the second night without a hassle - thankfully.

Me and my husband go every year to Tobago. We are budget friendly travelers. What we love about this was the location. Close to pigeon point. walk-able distance from the airport (we don't drive lol - what a shame i know). You can basically walk to get anything to eat and also have some night life fun. The property was clean with a small pool outside. The room was decent enough to just change and sleep (its all we really needed). The bathroom was tiny (this would be the downfall for me. There was a kitchen but we never used it. Hmm i would stay again! It was cheap enough and i could manage with a small bathroom for a couple of days hehe

Great location! Walking distance from the beach, shopping malls and food outlets. There are two pools ..one 3-5 ft in depth and another 5ft which were kept clean. The furniture in the porch area were basically iron beach chairs covered in a plastic material which were not in the best condition. The AC in room 4 kept making a noise (which was not unbearable but still noticeable) and the swing blade was not working. The room was clean but the furniture and pillows were worn out. There were no mats in the room or in the bathroom. There was a towel folded up on the floor in front of the shower in place of a mat which was dirty. Improvements are greatly needed!

My husband and I are frequent guests at the hotel however, our last visit was marred with noise and dirty floors. The hotel was relatively empty so we were expecting a restful four nights in Tobago. However, a couple who were checked-in on our last night there was playing the television so loud you were hearing it outside of the room. They were speaking loudly up until 11.00pm in the night. We did not raise it with the hotel because it was our last night and it made no sense changing rooms. I would appreciate if the hotel would upgrade their rooms to ensure its sound-proof so guests can be comfortable. The rooms are in dire of upgrading because the televisions are very tiny in the studio apartments and the remotes don't work. The floors of the rooms apparently are not swept everyday and mopped because it is constantly sandy. The beds also are very wobbly and the mattresses are killer to your back. Please Surf Side look into doing some maintenance in order to attract some international guests.
