We have know the Trout for many years and been through many owners.in recent times it has had a reputation of excellence .therefore for a special night out for my wife and I we booked at the Trout. We were welcomed by a boisterous young man adorned with studs- never my favourite. My wife' s glass of champagne we served...

Stayed for two nights here for my birthday, sadly, although the room was pleasant it was right next to the kitchen so was VERY noisy, with banging and crashing and a particularly loud extractor fan running from about 4 pm until midnight. Then about 6am the banging and extractor resumed as breakfast was prepared. Not a restful stay for us,...

4 members of staff chatting behind the bar and eventually one condescends to serve you. The delay does give you a chance to save up for the drinks. I have been to this pub a several times over the years and decided to take a friend from Bampton out for a drink. Looking at the reviews it seems the pub...

Reading the many reviews on this potentially good pub restaurant, it screams for a god manager. The food is good. Not Michelin, but very acceptable. But the organisation of front of shop, taking orders and delivering great service is simply dreadful. The recruitment of good staff is where it starts. Having testosterone fuelled barmen who think they are in a...

Such a lovely pub, with great drink & service. Jess and her team are a great asset to the pub. The locals are all very happy to help, especially the bloke at the end of the bar who drank Guinness!! Even with new management, nothing has changed and The Trout is a good friendly local pub.

Beautiful pub in a lovely riverside location. The menu is small but it is all freshly cooked and fantastic. The staff were all really friendly and helpful and we had a great evening. We will definitely return. The steaks is especially recommended as is the hake, both of which were perfectly cooked.

Enjoyed our stay very much. The location is next to the Thames and there was a lovely beer garden by the bridge, but it was a little windy for us. The rooms were well kept and decorated with a country charm with all the mod cons. The manager was very accommodating and cared about our stay being a good one...

I stayed at the Trout recently and couldn't have been better welcomed . It's in an idyllic location and has been recently refurbished . As soon as I walked in , I was greeted by friendly accommodating staff and couldn't have hoped for more . Everyone at the pub was friendly and the choice of wine , food etc. was...

Arrived at the lovely setting and was upgraded to the suite, due to issues with the room booked, so off to a good start, the room was well appointed and provided me with probably one of the best nights sleep I'd had in a while, whilst staying away. Very happy. I ate in the restaurant and was served promptly and...

A country inn and boutique hotel with a Pokémon stop outside and an abundance of Pokémon all around. 4G outside and Free Wifi inside - what more could we ask? Our first impressions were excellent, there is a large car park close to the entrance and a splendid garden with tables and seating running down to the river. We were...
