The hotel is located on the main square of the walled town. The square offers views of the mountains and is an easy walk to the ancient fortress, which makes a good half day excursion. Our room was fantastic. There were only three rooms occupied the first night we were there, so each couple had a corner room on separate...

This restaurant is part of the Zunica hotel establishment located at the entrance of the quaint and picturesque Civitella town. This town came highly recommended by our Abruzzo friends and it became our favorite small town during this 9-days trip to Italy. The dining area is beautiful and elegantly decorated. The service was attentive and excellent. We had a light...

This hotel was recommended to us snd we were not disappointed. The location is simply amazing with incredible views. The square in front of the hotel provides entertainment and people watching all day as all the locals and visitors tend to gather here. The hotel itself is old fashioned and quaint and we loved our room. It was exactly as...

A heavy rain shower forced us down from the fortress and we took shelter in the 2nd floor dining room. The meal was delicious. Simple ingredients with some interesting twists. The "composed" salad with ice cold tomatoes was a perfect presentation and bursting with flavor. The waitstaff was gracious and very helpful. A wonderful experience.

We (family of 4, kids ages 12 and 9) spent 3 nights at Zunica. Maurizio, Giuseppe, Vincenzo, Sandro, and the rest of the staff made us feel welcome at every turn. The food was delicious every time, and Giuseppe was a fantastic maitre d', attentive, friendly, always there when we needed something but never pushy or too present. In fact,...

I attended the 3 day cooking class(2 hours each). The classes are fairly set and basic, which suited my needs as I lacked Italian cuisine for this region. The chef and his sou chef presented the lessons with the manager as the English translator and guide. If you arrive with the basic skills of whisking, knife use, basic prep you...

While touring the Abruzzo region of Italy, my wife and I spent three nights at the Zunica with a group of 14 people from the US. What a pleasant surprise to have the opportunity to stay at such a wonderful hotel and location. While driving the road to Civitella del Tronto you get to spy the historic fortress and village...

Hotel Zunica in the small, picturesque mountaintop town of Civitella del Tronto in Abruzzo is a memorable spot. The hotel is first class, and the restaurant one of the best anywhere inside our outside of Italy, the food is amazing. The best part of the hotel is the staff - everyone is so very friendly and helpful. There are fantastic...

My husband and I spent two nights at Hotel Zunica as explored Civitella del Tronto; the birth place of his grandfather. Hotel Zunica and the restaurant exceeded our expectations. The rooms were large and comfortable with an outstanding view of the Gran Sasso Mountains. We enjoyed the 8 course tasting meal at the restaurant which feature local foods and recipes....

I spent my Christmas holiday in Civitella del Tronto. I stayed and dined at Hotel Zunica over three days and it was absolutely fantastic. The owner, Daniele, is a host in the truest sense and made me feel at home. The staff is super friendly, attentive and resourceful. The hotel manager, Maurizio, was outstanding and speaks very good English, which...
