This was my second time at Madre Tierra. 4 days total. I'm had a massage every day. The massage therapists are wonderful. The meals are delicious. The rooms I've had - 16 & 18 where both great. I feel very at home here. The staff will do everything they can to make your stay the best

My wife and I have been travelling around South America and mainly in Peru and Equador. We had been in Cuenca for 4 weeks and felt we needed a 'nature' change. A friend recommended Vilcabamba and Madre Tierra. The staff were fantastic, the hotel is unique, colourful clean and in a beautiful spot overlooking the mountains. We shouted ourselves the...

The staff was wonderful. Facilities and rooms very comfy. Good restaurant. The owners and staff worked hard to make our stay a nice one. The location is out of town, but with a short walk and great views. We will be back.

As Geotourism Guide I look for places that provide an authentic 'Sense of Place' and align with geotourism principles, and in this regard. Madre Tierra gets high marks! 1) The "Wow" Location: on the edge of town (2 min taxi ride) with panoramic views that reveal the force field of light and landscape of the Andes Mountains, "Mandingo" and the...

Madre Tierra is a very friendly, accommodating, comfortable and health oriented Inn. The rooms are nice and the food is fantastic. MT has the added amenity of being a kind of international hub where you can meet the locals as well as fellow travelers. We had many an interesting conversation and enjoyed everyone we met including our hosts Peter and...

this is a lovely hotel in a wonderful setting. The staff are all MOST helpful. The place is clean and well appointed. The food was excellent. The location is very good - near to the village but far enough away. There are three levels of accommodation - we chose the middle one and were very pleased.

Dear all, I went for a weekend in Vilcabamba but I also need peace and time for me. So there in Madre tierra I had everything that I was looking for: beautiful gardens and house, hamaca, swimming pool, great food and a very good staff giving their best.

Rarely have I stayed at any property that I was so sad to leave. My 16 nights here could have easily slid into 30 or 40 had I let my desires win out over the need to move on. Every aspect of this property is outstanding: the accommodations, the service, the food, the setting, the spa and of course, the...

Came for one night but stayed for two weeks. Located an easy 10-15 minute walk (or $1.50 cab ride), about 1.5 km (1 mile) from the town square in Vilcabamba. We were welcomed by Gail in the wonderfully aromatic garden that is Madre Tierra. The place is spotless clean, the staff adorable who along with Peter and Gail bend over...

This is truly an wonderfully relaxing oasis. Our room was clean, spacious and had a very comfortable king bed. The views from the balcony were stunning. The little pools were great to lower the body temperature. The groundskeeper works hard at keeping the place looking like the paradise it is, the birds multiple birds chirping and the wafting of fragrances...
