We had a lovely week staying at this really special guest house at the edge of the piste. Ski on ski out location, so you miss the queues at the bottom in the morning - but everyone needs to be a confident skier! The kids loved being collected by ski-bike from the top of the lift on our arrival. The...

We stayed at the l'Aroula for four nights during a two week summer road trip in Valle d'Aosta. This was our first experience staying in a Rifugio. Logistics: The rifugio is located on the mountain side above Champoluc and can only be reached on foot. It's a 15-20 minute uphill walk from the Crest gondola station. Our hosts thankfully arrived...

We have been skiing for the last 2 months all over the Italian Alps & have stayed in many hotels & apartments. This is the first time we've stayed in a refuge & wow, what an experience! We love the fact that you can just ski straight from the refuge onto the slopes and you can be the first one...

The hunt for the perfect place to spend winter holidays has just ended. Off the beaten track, well above the ski resort of Champoluc this is all you can ask for. In a newly renovated farmhouse from 1584 and 100 m from the ski slopes we enjoyed complete tranquility, breath taking views, genuine, familiar and friendly service, excellent food and...

Wonderfully located, a little hideaway from a red slope, with a beautiful view of the wooded valley. Kind owners, and nice food. Traditional alpine building, gorgeously and authentically furnished and decorated. Impeccably clean and comfortable. Sweet montain water. Perfect to ski, rest, and read, write, or paint.

Just spent a perfect week in this beautiful Rifugio enjoying the ideal combination of fresh mountain air and hard exercise, followed by a cold beer next to warm log burner, huge jacuzzi bath, enormous and delicious dinner, good wine, friendly and helpful hosts, starlit snowy walks and a very peaceful comfortable sleep. Oh and did I mention the thrilling skidoo...

A traditional alpine farm converted into refuge. Lovely cosy rooms. Fantastic food. We will return. Ski in ski out. The mont rosa ski area is a hidden gem, where the locals are friendly, the on piste tavernas are reasonably priced and the pistes are maintained in fantastic condition. Unfortunately the same cannot be said of chamonix, our fitst stop.

Jean and Michela have restored the ancient family home her grandparents had to leave in the 50s, and have done a stunning job. It's still very much a family home, in an old Walser farming hamlet. There's a bar and restaurant off the piste (above the Crest, do call in for lunch or a drink if you are in Champoluc...

We spent a week here as a party of 6 adults as part of a ski package with Ski2. From the moment we were met at the gondola for the skidoo ride up to the hotel all of our needs were met. The place has a very specila atmosphere. Michela and Jean have created something very special. We received a...

A fantastic place to stay, ideal for a ski break, with the location in a beautiful part of the valley. The staff were excellent and very friendly and the whole stay was superb value. If you are looking for easy access to the piste or to go walking, then the location doesn't get any better!
