We wanted to stay because of the recommandations on TA but didn't. The rooms are basic and seem OK but we felt strange in a house which seems to be without any human beeing. The house and the suroundings have the best time behind them.

Muang Sing is a dying town....and when I got there two guest houses recommended by Lonely Planet had shut down as had some restaurants. The Chanthimeng GH is really the best place to stay... The rooms are clean as are the bathrooms and the terraces have views over the rice paddies so is relatively quiet. also great hot water shower!...

The Chanthimmeng Guest House is a great place to stay in Muang Sing. The balcony that overlooks the rice fields is a great place to sit and read during the day, or drink beer and eat snacks while watching the sunset. The rooms and linens are very clean. The staff is friendly and helpful. It is located just a couple...

We stayed here for 1 night before doing a 2 day hill tribe walk with the company next door (which was 200,000 kip each for a group of eight, Xorwang was an awesome guide!). For 60,000 kip, rooms are clean, hot water in ensuite works and it is quiet. I wouldn't bother paying an extra 10,000 for an upstairs room!...

I stayed one night in this guest house. They charged 80 0000 lak for a single room, without fan and tv. (60km from there, 50 000 lak for a room with fan, tv, and free hot or cold water) Impossible to get a cup of hot water, in the evening or the morning. Not helpful at all! Just here to...

I stayed here in 2008 and revisited again in 2011. The rooms are standard - same as any other $8-10 guesthouse anywhere away from the main tourist hubs - clean, hot shower, cable TV and optional AC. The bonus for this place is that it is on the edge of rice paddy that stretches uninterupted several kms to where the...

We had already found a guesthouse for the night when our friends found a room at Chanthimmeng. They called us up to the balcony, and sure enough we were sold. The view from the upper balcony was so stunning, we couldn't imagine staying anywhere else. Our bed was firm but comfortable, and the room was cooled with a fan. Everything...
