You will probably not find this place by its official name. It will be easier to ask for Kassim's place. It is a very humble yet wonderful small hotel right on the front line of the ocean. You will find it right at the arrival of the boats going to Wasini. We were warmly welcomed and immediately felt some sort...

The pros: the view from the balcony by our room was beautiful. At high tide the Indian Ocean was right below. The food was great, fresh fish and fresh fruits aplenty. Great water pressure in the bathroom, difficult in a place like Wasini where there is no water supply network, hence the reliance on rainwater. The cons: The mattress was...

We visited wasini 6 friends in august 2014 and had a great time. The location is amazing, right in the sea front of the island with stairs directly into the water. One of the best swahili food we´ve had along the coast. Very nice fish, potatos, spiced rice and octopucs in coconut sauce )ask for it!) and it was nice...

Pushy and dishonest management; surprise and arbitrary costs; very mediocre food that's okay for the first time but increasingly unappetizing, as the same selection dishes are prepared for each meal; and barely passable cleanliness make this a place to avoid. The snorkeling off the coast of Wasini is absolutely amazing - the best I've experienced in Kenya - but next...

Around midday on Wasini Island is when the tour boats are having lunch after snorkeling in the Marine National Park, not far from Wasini. After the groups left, we were the only foreigners on the island (or at least this end). This is what staying at Mpunguti is about. If you want, they can organise snorkelling trips to the reef....
