Spent a great weekend down at Blackdown yurts. Weather mainly good but really enjoyed the rainstorms too - very atmospheric listening to the rain on the roof of the barn and yurt with the wood stoves burning. A beautiful spot to spend a weekend or longer. Friendly and helpful hosts too.

We stayed in a yurt and it was beautiful. Just about everything had been thought of, and I've never stayed anywhere where the owners were so organised, and informed us so well about what we'd need, how to get there, how to make best use of the place etc. I'm not a die-hard camper, but this was just such fun... We stayed at Blackdown Yurts earlier in August and had a fantastic time. For someone that doesn't do camping we were recommended the Yurts by friends who had been before, and I can honestly say I am converted. Our son who is 7 was free to run around in the fresh air and thoroughly enjoyed himself as we did. There... More

We love Beer too - we really want to go mackerel fishing from there. Haven't been to Becky Falls yet so we will definitely go there soon. Our children Mia and Felix have reviewed Canonteign Falls on their "Fun Days Out" blog on our Halsbeer Farm cottage website. More

We booked this fantastic break away at the last minute. We arrived a bit early but was met with a warm welcome, and allowed to of load all our stuff into the yurt. This was the start of our adventure and what a fantastic and wonderful one it was. Mark and Katie the owners are really welcoming and friendly but... More

Our extended family took over 3 of the 4 yurts last weekend and we had a fantastic time. We all loved the Yurts and had a fabulous time playing rounders in the field, toasting marshmallows on the campfire and collecting fossils at Charmouth, a 45 minute drive away. Mark and Katie are friendly, helpful hosts and the facilities are great... More

We stayed for 4 nights in badger yurt and had a really nice time. Mark and Katie are extremely nice and welcoming people who make you feel very much at home. They kindly helped us out with arranging swimming for us nearby which our son loved. The pre booking contact they give you is indepth and very friendly. They make... More

Glad you liked our water; we find it delicious and very sweet to taste. It is from our own bore-hole and is triple filtered through sand and UV to clean it. We also have it tested annually to make sure it is fresh as fresh can be. Thanks for your lovely review. Hopefully see you again soon. Katie. x More

After our first visit last summer we could not wait to come back to Blackdown Yurts for another break in the lush Devon countryside. This time we met the new owners Katie and Mark who were lovely and welcoming. The yurts are still warm and cosy and the area is perfect for the kids. We enjoyed having a BBQ and... More

“Buzzard has the best views but is difficult to access if you have disabilities and or mobility issues as there is a steep climb. the other yurts are at a low level and are near to parking and the field kitchen plus a large filed for the kids to run around. be careful following satnav instructions it will lead you the wrong way. its just off the Cullompton Junction on the M5 and Tesco is just the other side of the motorway junction.”
