Great open fires, cosy, comfy, friendly bar. Ideal for winter evening drinks. Christmas lights outside add to festive atmosphere. Didn't eat but the food looked good. Dogs welcome which is always a bonus.

If the room has been decorated recently the yes I'd probably go for it. Don't stay in the gatehouse rooms they aren't brilliant
