Appropriate wifi password for the management (relic123) but keen younger staff. Expensive and poor quality dinner (pricing not made clear) and very expensive drinks/wine. Sense that making money rather than guest experience was the focus. Truly awful lunch. Pool was an oasis and rooms clean and comfortable. Recommend free trip to fort but make sure they don't forget your sundowners!

Still owned and used by the Rajput royals, Shahpura Bagh is a step into old style opulence. Idiosyncratic in style and experience, the old hunting lodge is a supremely relaxing retreat for explorers, bird lovers and travellers looking to experience authentic Rajasthan. The staff were sweet and attentive and the lodgings comfortable and spacious. The local bazaar was one of...

As with other reviews, this is the perfect way to break journey between Udaipur and Jaipur. The Singhs are gracious hosts offering tips and help but also giving you plenty of space. Their concern to run a responsible business and heritage of local patronage came strongly through. The rooms are spacious, clean and tastefully done. The staff were top notch...

We decided to beak up the drive between Jaipur and Updaiour and found this extraordinary sanctuary from the noise, crowds and bustle. Wonderful surroundings - bird watching, a lake ride, bicycle paths, hiking tails, a lovely pool, great food, palacial rooms. Couldn't get any better. Highly recommended!

This luxurious small hotel in the town of Shahpura, southeast of Jaipur, is the home of the royal family, members of which still live in the estate. There is a gorgeous swimming pool, the food is delicious and the staff couldn't be more helpful and attentive. The king has, for many years, cared for the well-being of the populace by...

The beauty of the place is only surpassed by the kindness & hospitality of the hosts Kamal, Maya & all the staff. Nothing seemed to be an effort to make one feel comfortable & at home. An absolute gem of a hotel filled with tranquility & character. An absolute must if you traveling through Rajasthan. Thank you for a memorable...

I do not often give a hotel an 'excellent' but this place deserves it. Descended from the Royal Family, Sat Singh and Maya Rathor don't treat you as a hotel client but as a personnel guest. There are two buildings, one of which is 120 years, ours had 8 cavernous rooms, well equipped with a mixture of modern and antique...

We stayed 2 nights here and wish it could have been longer. Our room was beautiful and very large. The pool area was delightful with very attentive but unobtrusive staff and a great place to enjoy a snack or drink - it was lovely in the evening when the charcoal braziers were lit. Food was delicious. However the highlights of...

We stayed at Shahpura Bagh for three nights and could not fault it. The pool is a delightful place to relax, enjoy a swim, eat a light lunch and savour drinks and nibbles in front of a brazier before dinner. Our room was clean, comfortable, spacious and tastefully decorated. The food was plentiful and a good combination of vegetarian and...

Very tranquil, nice walks through garden/woodland, beautiful pool area. Maya was a lovely host. Fabulous suite bedroom the size of a house and lovely bathroom with shower and bath. Fabulous to sit outside in the garden for breakfast. Good choices for evening meal - too much. Staff very attentive. No card machine, good wifi. Excellent
