Much loved and recommended we thought we'd invite friends for lunch. Food arrived at different times - main course - so one person waited while everyone had almost finished theirs. The main for veggie nothing as described/ordered, and absolutely repulsive. My pudding didn't even arrive. The waitress had given up at that point and seemed to find it funny how...

My husband and I booked to eat here for Valentines, we had heard it was good but it was amazing. There were only 13 tables so the atmosphere felt intermate, the menu was exclusively for Valentines night. We ordered the sharing platters for all 3 courses. Starter- Oysters, mussels, beef broth and broccoli spears wrapped in pancetta. Main - Beef...

We stayed here overnight as we were going to go to Cheltenham horse racing and it was brilliant. The rooms were a great size and the beds were very comfortable. The breakfast was delicious, and I would love to visit again.

Yes you should book a table to avoid disappointment but isn't that the sign of a good pub ! Another great roast sat by the fire in the bar Area. Another few hours watching the dogs enjoy their nap as their owners drank and ate. It's just lovely

Had lunch here with a friend. My first visit although my friend had been a few times. Very warm welcome, lovely log fire and great food. We both had the homemade cod fish finger sandwiches. with a side of triple cooked chips ....delicious. I will definitely return.

A night out with work colleagues, great service and the food was lovely, nothing was too much trouble and we couldn't fault anything. We all ordered from the bar menu rather than the restaurant menu as we preferred the food choices. Lovely homely pub and would definitely go back again.

Popped in over Xmas after a long walk and was very disappointed as all the tables in the bar were reserved. When we took a few chairs from a table reserved for 45 minutes later we were told by the barmaid that unless we put them back...we would be evicted!!! Really...?!? Surely if people want to reserve tables they should...

I was travelling on business and chose to stay at The Red Lion due to it being only 6 miles out of Swindon town. What a find. I wish I was staying here on a leisure break rather than on business. I was greeted at the bar by a very hospitable lady who showed me to my room which was...

Had a meal with the family ,had a drink in the bar first l did think £8.50 for a large gin and tonic was expensive, especially when it was only house gin .The restaurant was lovely ,my meal was delicious, the men had 2rib eye steaks which were of poor quality and very small. We never complain as we do not want to...

Old fashion traditional English pub, fantastic atmosphere with table in front of the fireplace, excellent solution for a simple dinner with colleagues. Good house brewed beer also. Food simple but good quality Recommended
