We had a 3 night stay here and can thoroughly recommend the village pub. Attention to detail...iced water in your room .. excellent team of staff, and a good choice of all cooked food. A perfect place to stay to explore the towns and villages of the Cotswolds

My wife and I have regularly eaten at this gastropub over the years and have generally been very satisfied. However on this occasion we had a late lunch there on a busy Saturday and it was a disappointing experience. I had cheese soufflé as a starter, which I've had before there, but this time it had been precooked and lacked...

They have a very good chef! The dinning room has been striped back since our last visit a couple of years ago, and now is a quite simple a country pub. However, the food is exceptional, beautifully cooked and presented at very reasonable prices for such quality. Hake with with wild mushrooms on seafood risotto and pheasant with dauphinoise potatoes...

My wife and I spent 3 days at the Village Pub and found it to be an excellent base to explore the beauty of the Cotswolds. The bedroom was clean and spacious; staff were courteous and very efficient; the pub had a wonderful ambiance and the food was excellent - we ate all our evening meals here as we didn't...

Many times i've eaten lunch in this charming pub. Service is good, food consistently good and all in a very nice place to lunch. The recent £20 roast grouse with all the trimmings an absolute triumph. Please keep that!

Gorgeous cosy pub, good welcome. The menu was varied suiting many tastes. Good fresh and seasonal ingredients. I had the duck salad as a main course, tasty! The service was friendly and efficient. I would love to go again and experience new foods! Good parking, not far from Bibury or Cirencester.

I had not expected it to be this good The pub is in the countryside - lovely in itself. But this village pub is a real gem. I had the local venison. My wife had the cod. Both were spot on. And the wines are excellent. The service was friendly and attentive but not intrusive. Just what I wanted.

We stayed at the Village pub for 2 nights and we were pleasantly surprised. The room was very comfortable and relatively spacious. The Pub is a sister hotel to Barnsley House so you can go and enjoy the amenities of the larger house, such as use of wellies and such. We enjoyed our stay and would recommend it!

We were a little surprised to be taken to a pub for lunch by our guide, but were we surprised. All of the food was incredible-from the crab salad, pea & ham soup to the duck & watercress salad. Not only was the food delicious and beautifully presented, but the outside garden setting added a special touch. This pub in...

We've often passed the Village Pub on our travels, but this time we broke our journey from Cornwall for an overnight stay. Very welcoming staff, nothing too much trouble. We had Room 5 which is on the front. Bear in mind that this can be a busy route at times, so plenty of traffic noise, but the secondary double glazing...
