Im yoga teacher traveling thru Latin America looking for places to host my next yoga retreat. I stumbled upon this hidden gem in lago de Apopyo. The property is intimate with a great staff & relaxed vibe. The food options are perfect for flexitarians & desert lovers. My favorite thing was the calala torte that I devoured before I could get a photo. I did slow down to capture this meal of tostones mixto. Definitely recommend this as a spot for couples, retreat groups, familys, or solo travelers needing some R&R. Looking forward to coming back with my group!!
Casa Marimba is a wonderful and peaceful place. Staff was very welcoming and kind during our stay. I specially loved everything about the food and the view is just breathtaking. Will definitely come back!

Wow...just wow! To start, we love lakes (more than ocean), so this place just hit the spot! Lacuna de Apoyo is breath taking. Casa Marimba is a gorgeous facility, and you feel like you are floating in the trees. The staff was amazing from start to finish, and made our stay so relaxing. The room was very comfortable (definitely spend the $10 extra per night for AC...you won't regret it!). The restaurant was amazing for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and the bar is cute-as-a-button, and stocked with all the "necessities"! The lake itself is gorgeous, and the water is so clean and refreshing. There are inter-tubes, kayaks, and a floating dock available for use. Please consider Casa Marimba for your stay in/near Granada!! You won't regret it!
The place is charming and very well maintained, food is good and service excellent!! **The only thing I would recommend is to ask for a room on 2nd floor or with no one on top of you. The rooms are very nice but not at all isolated which made it very hard to sleep when other clients were even just walking around. We had room #3 also named Tilcara
Located on the shore of beautiful Apoyo lake, Casa Marimba is THE place to stay and chill for a couple of days. The staff and owners were very nice. We chose room #4 which is spacious and has a great balcony with a stunning view of the lake and volcano. All rooms have fans and a/c as well as comfortable beds. The food is mostly vegetarian but also has meat on the menu. Breakfast sweet or salted is included. Food and atmosphere are great. You can also enjoy the place on a one day basis for 5USD which is popular with the backpakers of the surrounding hostels. The dining area has 2 tables and a six stools counter. The hotel has 6 rooms. The place can be easily crowded at meal time! Kayaks are available. The lake is great for swimming. All areas of the hotel are very clean and nicely decorated. Be careful with the uneven stairways! On an overall basis we enjoyed our stay and recommend Casa Marimba!…
This cute place is absolutely beautiful! Located directly next to the lake, with amazing views from the rooms and the restaurant in the middle of pure nature. The food is amazing as well. I tried the vegan burger, which was fantastic! Order it and you won’t regret it! Also the stuff is super nice! Thanks to everyone!
Beautiful tropical paradise on the shores of stunning Laguna de Apoyo. The restaurant features mediterranean-nica fusion cuisine with locally sourced, organic, seasonal produce. Vegetarian/vegan options include lasagna, pasta, pizza, musaka, hummus plate, veggie burger, vegan omelette and pancakes, smoothie bowls, super food smoothies, home made focaccia bread and kombucha. Get a day pass for only 5$ (includes a drink) and you can use the kayaks, swimming tubes and playa and eat your way through that delicious menu. They have great cocktails too and the location is just breath taking. If you decide to stay a couple of days like me, check out their rooms, who are great too. And at night you will hear the howler monkeys and some tropical birds.
