We arrive at 5:00pm to check in for a couple of nights, they gave us Villa 101. As soon as we start un packing our belongings we notice that 2/3 AC weren't working, immediately we complain about the issue, then they suggested to relocate us in 2 other Villas. To make the story short, staff members gave us a hand with moving our stuff, including luggage, food, coolers etc. between the 3 Villas(they never gave us a key of the other one which I find it very odd) meanwhile we agreed that we would stay in they same one due to the fact that it was night already. Hours passby suddenly when it was time for bed, my aunt started looking for her belongings just to realize her luggage was missing. we started searching all over the place, both trucks nothing. Next day we run another search thoroughly but no were to be found. We spoke to the supervisor about the issue, however her answer was this: “we are not responsible for any lost or mis placed of your belongings” and that they had no proof of the bag ever entering, so we then asked if they could checked the vids cameras, their immediate response was “they are not working”. To the lack of accountability they gave us the number of the “owner” Chef Nelson Porta, we explained to him what was going on, and instead of offering us help, he gave us a last option to call the police, which we did. At the end of the day we got robbed, humiliated and even offended by the owner himself. I hope this can help anyone in the future who is planning on visiting our Nic. Avoid at all cost, better spend your money somewhere else, blessings happy 2023…😣…
Stayed on 29th of May, 2021 - There is nothing but accommodations. Stayed in an apartment; no internet, no TV, no breakfast no any other kind of service. Room looked clean, but certainly not worth $100, maybe $30-40. Food was only available at La Vista Restaurant and Grill. Waited for food AN HOUR AND TWENTY MINUTES for two people and they still forgot part of my order (mushrooms). Meal cost $45 - too much for quality, price or service that was received. Menu in dollars.
Booked through online site that said everything was open. When we arrived to check in the security guard was surprised to see us. They initially said they didn’t have my reservation but once they “checked me in” they told me that none of the restaurants were open during the week. She told me that we would need to drive I to town to get groceries if we wanted food there. I told her that we didn’t want to stay since it was a remote location and we would have to drive a large distance to get meals. I was unable to get a refund for the first night since she “checked me in”. 🤦🏼♀️🤯 we went back to Granada and stayed at a nice place near restaurants.
This place is highway Robery, very expensive not even a five Star Resort and they charge More than the best hotel in Managua Intercontinental. the food by the so called chef Nelson is Worst than any no mame taquería in town. I do not Recommend!waste of money.
After being on the go for a week in Leon, it was good to slow down for a few days. Our group of 29 were pleased with the resort - but there are shortcomings. After the political issues of the last couple of years, the resort was not very active. The houses were huge and clean, with a great covered porch. The kitchen etc. was sparsely furnished. Good fridge, but no coffee maker, microwave etc. Likewise - no TV. The individual properties were effectively spread out on both sides of a road up the hill. It was fairly steep, and a good distance from the top where we stayed. The have a truck with seating that made regular trips, and which was available on demand. There were several pools on the property, and the staff was great. The resort was not quite what we expected, but we were well satisfied.…
We had a large cabin? Upstairs was a king size bed with a balconny, downstairs was a double single bed room. 3 bathrooms, full kitchen . . . the pool was great. Two of the three restaraunts were closed. But the remaining one, and Pizza place were great. I'm sure with more bookings things will open up. We would stay there again.
Diamond in the rough....great place to relax and unwind. We stayed nearly a week, which might be too long for some, but we found it to be very relaxing and laid back. It is not fancy in any way. The Villas are varied some better than others. If you want luxury you need to go somewhere else. This place is in the middle of the jungle on a caldera of a Volcano in Nicaragua. If you enjoy floating in the lake or sitting in a hammock on the porch of your villa , you will love it here...I know we did. Was is a perfect stay, nope.. but we did not care, if was wonderful. If you do stay here be sure to call Moriah Tours, their driver Eduardo took us on a couple of tours and he was a wealth of information, spoke English and was a great driver. Don't miss the tour to Las Isletas or Masaya Volcano. Thanks to Sara Miranda for all her efforts over the past months with assisting our group. The guys at the Pizza restaurant made great pizza and calzone. If you are there for a few days, you may want to bring food to cook in your unit, otherwise you are limited on where to eat. We did venture down the road to the Paradiso Hostel and actually spent the day. Fun bartenders and cheap drinks...…
bad food, bad service, dirty shore, dirty pool, very expensive. A horrible experience. We will not be repeating or recommending to friends. In fact the opposite. If you make a trip to Nicaragua miss out this location.
This peaceful resort is in a tropical dry forest, with hundreds of varieties of birds, and howler monkey families in the mango trees. The Laguna is heated with hot springs, and the water is 82 heavenly degrees. There are pools, restaurants, nearby hikes, and much to do in the neighboring villages, such as Caterina and Granada. This place is heaven!
Service Was Terrible. One of the most expensive breakfast I Ever eat I felt like They take advantage of the People that stays in the cabains, making the stay not so confortable. Apoyo is beautifil, but you Should try another places.
