Dined at lunchtime. Waited nearly an hour for over cooked, lukewarm hunters chicken. Staff indifferent and unfriendly. Been here lots of times in the past but no more!! What a shame as the building has a commanding position, beautiful beer garden and obviously whoever is in charge now has no culinary or customer service awareness!

Called in yesterday at 2.30 for lunch and drinks. Ordered two sandwiches (delicious) a small glass of wine and a J20 topped with soda. Received 23p from £20. I queried this with drinks waitress who confirmed the charges after telling us 'Wine is expensive in pubs, but the soda is free". Waited until food was bought to table, and queried...

It is in a good location right by the sea front, so views from bedrooms. Our room was small with a minuscule en-suite. The shower drain was blocked and the toiletries were not replaced. The floorboards were VERY squeaky in our room and also the one above which was not good late at night. The bar was OK and the food...

Despite there being confusion on arrival regarding the room we had requested and the keys not being available this was resolved fairly swiftly and to our satisfaction. The room was clean, comfortable and had excellent views of the beach. Our children were accommodated and we had a thoroughly enjoyable stay. The breakfast menu was excellent with plenty of choice and...

Just got back from a very pleasant stay here, room ( superior)spacious well appointed and clean with sea view. Very comfortable bed, and nice decor. All staff pleasant and helpful especially Ana the manager who seemed to be working 24/7. Food typical pub chain food, all tasty, but bit of a wait( we were told in advance) as they were...

We have dined here on many visits to Beer in the past but have noticed a decline in the standard of food on offer We dined on April fools day so maybe we were tempting fate or just unlucky .. We had booked a table for six people many weeks earlier so no excuse to be shown to a table...

This is a great spot in a lovely position. It has a super garden overlooking the sea but unfortunately, even on lovely sunny days such as experienced recently, no food is served to customers in the garden - presumably due to lack of staff. Such a pity although the food is nothing special - mostly pre prepared catering food not...

Worst Sunday Roast in Devon. Advertises local produced veg - which were frozen along with powdered mash potatoes which tasted like dumpling. The roast was NOT a roast beef joint of meat but the plastic slices you get in a supermarket with gravy to try and disguise. On the beach are lovely eateries also further up the street there is...

This hotel has an enviable location, a frontage that overlooks the sea and a beer garden that enjoys wonderful views. Only a small amount of rooms so a good idea to book early if you are set on dates. The cooked breakfast is a hearty affair, cooked fresh, no buffet style here and very good it was. The staff all...
