Great couple of nights using the old English inns special break, so excellent value. All staff very friendly and accommodating. Pub food fare good and very good breakfast. Room overlooking the bay nice to sit and look out to beach and sea. Have stayed in quite a few of this groups hotels. This to me is clearly the best one...

Dear guest, I am sure that you were old that the value menu runs everyday but is clear on the core menu that that menu stops at 7.00pm. I apologise for the mis communication. Yet it is available every day.I will make sure my team are clearer on the phone in communicating our menus. Thank you for bringing this to...

Four of us went for a meal here while on a short break, we were given a menu, all chose our meals, waiter came to take order , out of the four meals that were chosen, only one was available!! Why not tell us what was available before letting us choose?? I ordered a steak, medium done, it came with...

Stopped for three nights for a short break prior to my wife's sixty-ninth birthday. Very nice traditional, small, hotel with friendly, polite and hard working staff led by Jim, the manager. Nice view of the beach and fishing boats from the bedroom window. Only drawback is having to juggle the car to fit in with the parking restrictions around the...

My boyfriend and I stayed for one night recently. We were visiting Lyme Regis the next day so it was only a brief visit. We arrived late, but the staff were really welcoming showing us to the room, and did me some food despite the fact they had stopped serving. The room itself was fine-two twin beds pushed together which...

We have just returned from a 2 nights stay. The hotel ticked all the boxes. It was clean, warm, quiet and comfortable with a nice choice for breakfast and reasonable evening menu. It is what it is though - a chain hotel. We booked it following a day visit several years ago when it was in private hands and the...

We booked a superior room for a one night stay and decided to eat in the pub. Great location overlooking Beer beach, but with no car park you'll have to find somewhere in the town. Room was very nice and well cleaned. The food was of good quality and portion size large. Breakfast next morning cooked to order, a wide...

Making our first visit to east Devon we chose this area on the recommendation of friends but chose the Anchor as it one of the Old English Inns group which we've found to be good in the past. We were given room number 1 which was well decorated and had a brilliant view over the bay. The room was warm...

We ate here several times during our visit to Beer. The menu had enough variety to allow us to do so without having to repeat meals. Everything was good quality and prepared well. Great pub near the waterfront. Would love to visit their beer garden in the summer.
