There is no more romantic hotel as this hotel. Only 10 rooms. Beautifull building. Friendly staff and owner. Reasonale price. I love it. You can hear your neighboors would be the only disadvantage but I think this is the charm of an old building.
We have just returned from a week of hiking in the Piemontese mountains and have stayed in a number of very good places. But I must say: None as fabulous, as this one. What can I tell you? Is it, because this hotel is located on one of the most beautiful spots along the Walsertrail? Is it, because it‘s family run? Is it, because the house is a wooden construction, light and airy, ancient, but fitted with comfortable new beds and luxurious bathroom fixtures? Is it, because the whole place oozes happiness? Probably everything together. I can only tell you, this place is addictive. We‘ll definitely be back one day.
I can’t say anything else that I am really in love with this place. Viola- was so kind to help me with the booking. So warm welcome. The hotel is situated outside of Alagna center but this is what it makes even more magic. The hotel is surrounded with very old and typical houses. Really nice atmosphere. And if you’ll decide to have a dinner there - you will enter in warm and nice restaurant, where you will feel like a home. Beautiful place with a very good cuisine. Just love it. I travel a lot and this will remain one of my favourite places. The hotel is nice but what makes it perfect are very kind people who work there.. I will absolutely come back
A perfect accommodation spot in Alagna - we stayed four nights with catered breakfast and dinner. Every meal was absolutely delicious. The staff were so warm, friendly and helpful. It felt very Italian and not touristy - perfect for an authentic experience. You can order caffè macchiatos and spritz at the bar and chat away to the staff / guests. It's a lovely village and the bus pulls up right outside in the carpark to take you to the gondola etc. I would recommend this place highly and we were very sad to leave!
We booked the Montagna di Luce on a recommendation from a friend and we weren't disappointed. The hotel is full of character and beautifully maintained. Our rooms in the eaves were very comfortable and our children (aged 7 and 5) loved the cosiness of it. We stayed half board which suited us perfectly. There was plenty to choose from at breakfast and there were some real highlights in the evening set menu, particularly in the puddings. Our kids are not fussy eaters and enjoyed the food but if yours are picky you might possibly find you have a problem. The staff are very welcoming and could not do enough to make our stay comfortable. They also made the children feel really welcome. The hotel is slightly out of Alagna but the regular shuttle bus service into town and up to the Wold nursery slopes served us well. We rarely waited more than five minutes. Being out of town meant no nightlife(perfect for us) and undisturbed sleep! Overall Montagna di Luce is fantastic value for money and a memorable place to stay. We are certainly planning to return next year.…
very nice location just out from Alagna in a lovely little Vals village. We have been warmly welcome from the host and we had a very nice suite with a balcony. Also the breakfast was home made and very nice. I definitely recommend it for families and couples.
We stayed at this hotel recently, and overall it's fine. Breakfast was included in the price, but the selection was very limited and - to be frank - the number of flies flying around the breakfast room was unpleasant. Dinner, however, was outstanding. Really delicious and fresh food. Pleasant staff who all spoke at least some english.
Great place with fantastic, friendly and first class service! The restaurant serves good cusine with an excellent choice of wines. 5 min walking into town and if you're lucky the staff might give you a lift.
For the fifth time stayed in Montagne de Luce. In a great wooden Walser house. This time we where welcome by Sarah. Even she had to wait until 2 AM she was entusiastic and friendly. The food was great again. The hotel is very clean. We could even stay a couple of hours longer in the room because it was not rented out next day. Great service. Thx.
We are coming to Alagna every year for holidays and this is not the first time we tried this restaurant, but unfortunately there are not many options around. The menu is simple but it tries to be pretentious with some sophisticated names for very simple dishes, for example: for a main that it seemed to be a vegetable and cheese pie, in reality was just few vegetable with 2 small Toma cheese on top. We ordered the Gnocchi with deer gravy and a "local" dish made with bigne in a melted cheese pot. Both nothing really special. For mains, we ordered stuffed rabbit, a beef steak and the cheese with vegetable that I wrote before. There were not bad, however nothing remarkable about them. The best part of the dinner were the desserts. Both the blueberry millefoille and the bunnet were exceptional. Unfortunately 2 good dessert are not enough to justify a dinner here. The restaurant is small, if you want to come here you better book in advance. It is located in a traditional Walser House in Pedemonte, worth the visit of the area and we will suggest to take a break for a coffee instead of a full meal.…
