What a delight. Relaxed, friendly, superb cooking and a charming room with balcony. Try to ensure a room with a view (as E M Forster once said): the views are magnificent. Wonderful walking from the hotel and around the lovely hotel grounds in what is a warm and fresh climate. This a beautifully gentle place - understated even. The website's...

Beautiful resort, quiet surroundings, fresh cool air. Room spacious and clean. Had problem with storage water tank in bathroom, not enough hot water for two. Staff very friendly and efficient. Small touches like staff guiding us to the dining room with his torchlight in the evening was appreciated. Dinner was set menu, but food was very good. Breakfast was good...

We stayed here for two nights in a Planter's Villa room. The room was large and airy with a good bathroom, a lounge area and a balcony with glorious views across the hills. The safe provided in the room was very small and wifi only available in the communal areas and not in the rooms. The staff here are lovely...

Fantastic location and views to die for. Hotel rooms are like stepping back in time however and really could do with a little updating but clean. Its a long drive from Kochi but well worth it. Do go for one of the villas which are spacious and well appointed. The staff are friendly, attentive and very welcoming. The kitchen has a high standard and will accommodate special requirements. A new infinity pool has just been installed in the grounds. The town of Munnar is worth a...

Windermere Estate (Munnar) is the stay option for the discerning. The place has a character - what with serene, chic and breathtakingly beautiful setting, amid tea plantation. You feel that you're one with nature. We were upgraded to an estate bungalow that had refreshing views of the forest/valley right from our bedroom windows. A stunning range of vibrant mountain birds...

This place was a highlight of our visit to Kerala. Owned and run by a retired surgeon, the place is on a hill amongst tea and spice plantation. Accommodation was clean, spacious and comfortable. The views from our balcony were amazing. The estate has a viewpoint from which we observed the sunset and sunrise. What an experience it was!! All...

We were warmly greeted to a hotel set amongst some of the best views ive ever seen. The Manager and staff were a credit to the hotel and we found out that he had actually worked as a chef in London. The place was spotlessly clean and the food was amazing. We had a BBQ for the first evening which was a great...

We had a spacious bungalow which overlooked the mountains from tree height which made bird watching a treat. Shower needed to be timed as there was a small water tank which had enough for one shower. The surrounding tea plantations and mountain backdrop were beautiful and the Windermere Estate itself was redolent of the 1950s. There is a separate building...
