This review is of the restaurant. I called two weeks in advance to book a rezzo for 18 people for an 80th birthday lunch for my mom. There was one server for the entire restaurant and when other people came in for lunch behind us they were told to leave. Red flag? When menus were brought to the table, we were briefed on the over 20 black XXs on the menu of the items unavailable. Red flag? Salads were still on the menu so, phew. Attempting to use a tablet, the poor server had to try and take orders from 18 people who had almost no selection and using one black x’ed menu. After 20 minutes, orders seemed to be sorted. First salad arrives, but now told no salad left. So all main and side salad orders had to be adapted. This, while the one salad had already been served. Sandwiches seemed still available, so after another 20 mins and now shifted to pen and paper, orders put in. Over 1 hour after the first salad was served, some of the orders arrived. One, a club sandwich with lettuce on one side, tomato on the other, a piece of cheese on one side, a piece of bacon on the other. Not what one would equate with a club sandwich. I called them beforehand to organize a birthday dessert and they told me to bring my own, so when I brought it, was told I would have to pay a plating fee! I could wax lyrical about the tortuous event, but suffice to say, an utter embarrassment to fete my mother’s 80th. Thank goodness we had such lovely friends who graciously laughed and said oh well, we are all together. I asked to speak to management, get the owners’ # as I wanted to speak to them first before writing a review. I was told they would call me and they took my number. That was July 26th, and I have not heard from them. I feel for the server who was put in a ridiculous position, and they handled it as best they could. It is honestly the most ghastly lunch and situation I have had in the Valley. Such a shame, as our family and friends have been going there since the 70s. Skip the restaurant, and enjoy the lake while dining in more organized establishments. …
