We decided to do a stopover in Tokyo to break up the trip from Bangkok to Denver. I was so pleased to find the Yamawa Guesthouse. The hotel is a great mix of a traditional ryokan that is geared for foreign tourists. Tokyo can be a bit overwhelming, but the staff provided guidance about the rail system along with excellent...

One of the friendliest places I've ever stayed! They went out of their way to make sure we had all the information we needed, sorted our laundry and left fresh water in the room every day. The room was good and air-conditioning worked well! Walking distance from the train station and food markets in town. Overall great value place to...

This place is really nice and we've been welcomed by Mr Jo, the owner and his wife very friendly. Rooms are clean and big, perfectly air conditioned, after 2 weeks in bamboo bungalows with only fans on small space this is like heaven. Toilet and shower are in great condition, and for me as a coffee lover an absolutely great...

Yamawa is a small guesthouse, with super friendly owners, and an amazing price. Around £10 a night for a double air-con room is fantastic value, in my book. The rooms are basic, but comfortable. There's a TV, and WiFi is available. The owner, Joe, is incredibly attentive, and spends a lot of his time talking with guests, just socialising or...

This family run guesthouse is perfect. The location is great, the room is clean and it's a great price. The owners are so helpful, they helped us book all our onward transport and even booked our next hotel for us through a friend. Definitely recommend if visiting Trang.

We love staying at local, family-run establishments to get an insight into the culture, food and people of the destination, but this place was really TOP OF THE CHARTS! Bundit is a perfect host - chatting, directing you to the local attractions on maps, pointing out the good Thai massage joints from the bad ones, getting you a good bargain...

We came from Malaysia to Trang, our first stop in Thailand. The owner warmly welcomed us and explained to us where we would find the best food stalls. Unfortunately my girlfriend was showing symptoms of Dengue fiver. The owner recommended us the best hospital in town and directly took us there, he even stayed during the examination. My girlfriend seriously...

My partner and I stayed here before and after our visit to Ko Muk. The couple who run Yamawa are absolutely lovely! They really make the guesthouse feel like a home. We were greeted both times with an arrival drink and given free tea and cakes in the morning. Our transfer to Muk and to the airport was arranged for...

This guesthouse has large and very clean rooms. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Hot shower and air con perfectly working. It's near the night market and about 15 minutes walk from the train station. Highly recommended if you look for a simple, cheap and comfortable solution!
