great location , hotel needs some love but is ok. Biggest let down is the bathroom taps squirt you and the cleaners don't clean showers very well at all , we still had soap ends from last people in sower EWWL!

My husband and I spent two weeks at the Cook Islands,we did'nt know what to except, because there is'nt much publicity here in Far North Queensland about the islands. Stayed here at the hotel for a week just recently, had an amazing time, had a ground floor room which opened straight on to the beach, fantastic!! Staff were great, friendly, more than willing to help and make suggestions. Only thing that I would change is the bed, very soft and even though it was a king bed, it was...

We arrived in Rarotonga for our first ever 'island getaway' holiday and our first trip away with our 8 month old son. Unfortunately we had average weather for most of our holiday, but we could still sit in our room and watch the rain on the water. We had adjoining ground floor rooms which were perfect. We could send the...

I was fortunate to have a sneak look in both the Villa's and the hotel- wow what an inviting peace of paradise wrapping itself around the golden sands in a divine setting. The Sands Restaurant was the highlight of my time in the Cooks. We were greeted by a charming matre'di and taken to our table- starched table napkins, fragrant...

Having been to Rarotonga before we thought we would try somewhere we hadn't stayed before and chose Moana Sands Hotel. The hotel is small, older, but clean and comfortable, standard quality three storey building with less than twenty rooms, all with views of the lagoon and sea. Right on the beach the lagoon is the standout feature of the hotel...

We stayed at the Hotel in an absolutely fantastic location right on the sandy beach, the Sands Restaurant provided good meals and an adequate breakfast and the staff were friendly and helpful. Our room was described as a 'beachfront luxury studio' and although large, there was no sign of luxury and it generally felt uncared for and shabby. The housekeeping...

There were some things I was looking for on this trip. I wanted a nice hotel with its own beach (really on a beach), good accomodation with quiet and peaceful surroundings, great food and that was it. I lucked out, Moana Sands has this and more. It isn't an "everything included" resort, go somewhere else if you want to sit...

Its paradise. The Moana Sands Hotel is the only place I would stay on the island. If you want something fancy bars, pools and lots of activities it's not the place to stay but if you want a peaceful relaxing hotel this is the place for you. The staff are so lovely and ready to help you with what ever...

The best location in Rarotonga. We loved being able to walk straight out from our room (101) onto the beach and into primo snorkelling water. The hotel also had free snorkelling gear and kayaks available. I've seen a few reviews complaining about the lack of variety with the continental breakfast but for me it was a great breakfast - toast,...
