Such a wonderful place with wonderful staff and owners!!! They make you feel really at home like you are a visiting friend more than a paying guest. You really get the true castle feeling in this incredible place with it's natural and peaceful surroundings and beautiful rooms, the food is delicious and the service great!!! Wish we would have stayed...

Four Weddings meets Under the Tuscan Sun at this 1,000 year-old castle completely renovated and then stylishly peppered with antiques, paintings and global artefacts. If you like pristine American-style accommodation, this is not for you. It's more like a British "house party" in the country as you may mingle with other guests over dinner and conversation flows as fast as...

I recently stayed here as part of a workshop for four nights in June 2016. The general area, castle, food and staff are all excellent and I would thoroughly recommend this place for couples, families with mature children and solo travellers who like wine, nature and seclusion. As the castle is way out in the sticks far away from any...

This was one of the highlights of our vacation in Italy. Castillo Potentino was breathtaking, sitting perched high among the vineyards. We arrived later than expected due to a car accident but had managed to send an email alerting Alexander of our delay and we inquired about the possibility of dinner at the castle. We did not receive word back,...

Amazing with the exception of lack of air conditioning (hence the 4 rather than 5 stars). If you are looking for an AUTHENTIC castle in the heart of Tuscany then this is it! It dates back to about 1042, has been restored and is a working vineyard and olive grove. We had the wonderful pleasure of sitting with the castle...

It's now quite a while since I've been at Potentino but my mind keeps wandering back. I will go there again, all the way from Sydney. Apart from the delicious food, the lovely ancient castle accommodation and the genuine warmth of Charlotte Horton and the feeling of being welcomed as a friend when you arrive, the place has a unique...

Truly something different. Castillo di Potentino provides the opportunity to experience a magnificently restored castle that champions the local traditions of the region. The food and wine are both first class, and we wish we could have brought more of the wine home with us. The Greene's are meticulous hosts, and provided provided a personal touch that made our visit...

The pictures online don't do it justice. The entire place is meticulously restored with an eclectic twist (a beautiful spiral staircase in one of the many libraries and books galore). The hosts make you feel like one of the family and invite you to their activities on the farm (they were crushing grapes with their feet the day we were...

Where do I start? I agree with every other reviewer out there, this place is completely magical. If you are looking for an authentic castle without the "resort" feel this is the place. I loved the fact that they tried to keep the essence of a working castle and didnt try to go over the top like some castle resorts...

Castello di Potentino is an award-winning wine and olive-oil estate buried deep in the Tuscan Maremma. The main castle has ten bedrooms that can accomodate up to 20 people, while individual rooms can be rented on a B&B basis. Of all the places I've been in the world, Castello di Potentino is one of the most magical. Days are punctuated...
