if you plans call for a stay in the Black Forest of Germany do yourself a favor and plan a stay at Gasthoff Bruucke. We came here after staying in Istanbul for a week and found the inn owner Michael a great guy and his waiter very attentive and helpful. My luggage had never caught up to me and Michael...

Let me start by saying that I booked what I thought was the Zur alten Brücke hotel in Schiltach for two nights (two rooms) in September. As it turned out, I had actually booked the other Zur alten Brücke hotel, which has the exact same name but is in Heidelberg. But I did not know this. Just before leaving for...

First of all, if you decide to stay in the Black Forest it's sometimes hard to choose the best city to stay in as a travel base in the region (too many options). I recommend Schiltach for some reasons. - It's the typical small German village, with cobblestone streets and those houses we picture when we think about Black Forest;...

We enjoyed our two-night stay at Alten Brucke located in the pretty village of Schiltach. The room was clean and the heating was good. Breakfast was delicous and dinner, cooked by Michael the friendly owner, was tasty. It was an easy drive from Schiltach to Triberg to visit the Cuckoo Clock Museum and the water-fall, and to Hausach to explore...

This hotel is in a great location overlooking the river near the centre of town - the street is picture perfect! We had a room on the top floor overlooking the river, while the room was a bit small, the view was great, clean, comfortable and plenty of room for me and my husband. The stairs were not a problem...

My family and I (2 kids - 4.5 years old, 1.5 years old) stayed with Michael for 3 nights in the beautiful Schiltach. We got a large room - not new but big, clean, and with a kitchen which was very helpful with the kids. Plenty of parking in the street. The town is beautiful - everything is within a...

Based on the reviews of this hotel my wife and I were excited and we were not disappointed. Schiltach is the most beautiful town in the Black Forest and Micheal has the absolute best location. The city is located on the crossing of two small rivers and Zur Alten Brucke is located with a perfect river front view. There is...

Tomorrow is check out day from our stay at Zur Alten Burke. It was a wonderful experience, I am sad to be leaving such a great bed and breakfast. When we arrived in the pouring rain, Michal was outside waiting for my friend and I with umbrellas (we arrived later than what we expected). He carried our very heavy luggage...

We stayed in Schiltach for 4 days. Beautiful town and surroundings - but the best part was the ambience of the Gasthof and great hospitality shown to us by Michael. Great sense of humour, always willing to help and a really great chef. Breakfasts and dinners delicious. We'd definetely go back!

This place has been named our "happy place" whilst on our European vacation from Australia. Coming from Oktoberfest in Munich this place was the best for relaxing and recuperating before continuing on with our journey. The accommodation was very picturesque, clean and comfortable. The staff were second to none. Allowing you to feel as if this place is your home...
