In the bottom of the valley the hotel is beside the stream - as you'd expect for an old mill - in the fairly deep countryside. Very picturesque setting and excellent food, pointless going out to eat given the quality and variety available. They use part of the stream to feed their own small trout farm, and I wouldn't be surprised if the cattle wandering about soon end up on a hotel plate too. The staff were very friendly and - more importantly - helpful. Given the rural setting and lack of air-con (not a complaint, we knew!) we were beset by flies but swats were provided on request and a killing spree before bedtime set us up for a good night's sleep. I know I complimented the food in general but breakfast was ordinary, not bad or poor, just ordinary. We stayed four nights and would happily go back. Wi-Fi? Weak to non-existent. More

The Black Forest is Germany's most beautiful region! I might be a bit biased, because it is my home region, but you will find lots of arguments to sustain this claim :-)

The Untere Kapfenhardter Muehle is an old inn built around a real water mill. You can still buy the products of the mill in a shop across the court (and they are quite good). The place is up a little side valley of romantic Nagold valley and it is really a good place if you look for complete peace (you will have even difficulties to get your cell phone working).

The hotel as such is comfortable with spacious rooms, but don't expect luxury, Everything is clean, the WiFi is working all over the place and staff is friendly and efficient.

Ona particularly positive note: the hotel offers for spectacular 18.50 EUR half board and its worth takig it. The cuisine is regional and uses by default organic products. The breakfast buffet is included, but not particularly impressive.
