This is most probably the noisiest hotel I have been in. We have been in the fourth and top floor above the road of north entrance to Isernia. The street noise is horrible from early in the morning to very late at night. At night they also have loud music and party voices. I think that the source is events (weddings etc. that are held in the hotel or perhaps just next to it. Another problem is that the room is exceptionally unattractive. It looks like furniture of 1970's and it seems that they picked the most unattractive ones. I couldn't believe these are even available in such a beautiful country known for its elegant design. The only good thing to say about the hotel is the service. We came back from dinner after 23:00, noticed some problems and someone came to the room to fix it.

Hotel with an old history in Isernia where welcoming and quality are taken care of. Comfortable room with a firm bed; nice and varied breakfast with savory a sweet choice; good location. It takes 20 min walk to the train station. A nice walk in nature starts 5 minutes from the hotel.

Overall a good stay. The hotel rooms were large and had all of the amenities needed. The rooms were a bit worn and the shower didn’t work all that well initially but I got it to have enough pressure eventually. All in all I would recommend the hotel. There are also plenty of restaurants within about a 5 to 10 minute walk as well as a very nice one we didn’t try at the hotel. Breakfast was good and the management was polite.

I stayed here for a few days on a visit to Isernia. The hotel is grand, but old. The food here is great (probably wouldn't the breakfast though), and the ameneties are just right. The staff are friendly and helpful. I'd recommend it to anyone who drops into Isernia for whatever reason.

The hotel lives up to its name. Sitting in the lobby you expect the likes of Alberto Sordi or Gina Lollobrigida to walk through the door. It is a successfully modernised building yet classic in detail. If you stay at tbis hotel be sure to visit the restaurant. The food is fantastic. To the guys in reception: thanks for your help. Keep it up guys!!

We had a very nice stay at the Grand Hotel Europa while visiting family in Vandra, Italy. The room was clean and comfortable. Although the room my mother in law was staying, the air conditioning was not working very well. It was offered that she move, but she said she still was comfortable.

Hotel is very old, had seen its good days in the 1970's and it is in dire need of renovation. Found cigarette burns from years past on bathroom commode and the bathtub. Breakfast was a disaster- they put on the breakfast table an already opened packaged toast bread which was old and green with mold. When I tried the other closed package it had an old sell-by date.. The prices are exuberantly high for such outdated hotel in a small town like Isernia. Parking lot was full of day visitors to the slot machine casino....Asked to park downstairs in the closed garage which was quite dark inside..

This hotel demonstrates how travel use to be in the old days. Some areas were worn and tired, but you can forgive that as it was just so nice. Service was friendly and efficient. We had two interconnecting rooms with all the normal facilities. The restaurant had a great menu with specials of the day. Breakfast could have been a bit better, but there was plenty of great coffee.
