We spent 2 nights at the property, looking for relaxation and beauty and we are happy we did. The view from the room overlooking the gulf is indescribably beautiful and evocative, the room is comfortable and well equipped, the welcome and attention of the young staff are perfect and finally the experience of the hydromassage pool on the terrace overlooking the sea is very pleasant.
Some details made our stay "not perfect" and it is worth pointing out them in order to improve them where possible.
1. We discovered, at the time of checkout, that it is not possible to pay by instant bank transfer, nor by bank check, but only by credit card or cash and, since it is not exactly a laughable sum, it was not easy at all. On many other similar occasions, instant bank transfers were regularly accepted by the owners of the other structures.
2. It made us smile to find in the final bill the cost of 2 bottles of water made available in the room and not taken from the minibar.
3. We had difficulty using the hairdryer because in the bathroom of the room, near the mirror, there is no socket that allows this.
4. It was not possible to close the curtain separating the swimming pool on the terrace of our room and that of the room to our left because it was blocked by a stop on the sliding track. The very kind Gaia explained to us that the lock could not be removed to guarantee a view of the gulf for the guests in the next room, as they had the wall in front of them. However, I must point out that having the swimming pool, in practice, shared with unknown people, without any separation created discomfort for us in terms of lack of privacy.
However, we are happy to have had this experience, even if in the coming weekends we will like to choose other structures.

An enchanting location in an enviable position. Very professional and friendly staff; not intrusive but very attentive to detail. The spa is small but basic. The breakfast service is offered in the room and eating it on the veranda overlooking the sea is priceless. The personal hydromassage tub also deserves an excellent rating.

We had a fantastic stay at Laqua by the Sea. We appreciated being in Meta slightly outside the busier areas of the Amalfi Coast. We reserved two deluxe rooms with spas on the patio and could not have been happier to relax and unwind at the end of a very long trip. The service was fantastic from the time of booking through the end of our stay and we truly enjoyed our experience at the Laqua Countryside restaurant. We hope to be back!

This is a lovely little hotel and the staff couldn't do enough to help. Only rated as very good simply because of the location. Whilst it's easy enough to get to Sorrento on the train or bus there's not very much going on in the immediate vicinity. However, we visited in early November so this is out of season and it was evident that the locality still not fully recovered from Covid as places had closed and not reopened.
Staff went out of their way to help and I would like to give a special mention to Luigi who provided us with links for excursion providers, and local public transport. He was also kind enough to give us a couple of spare bus tickets!!
It would've been useful to have a pack in the room that included bus and train timetables and a note of how much they cost and where to catch them. We did a lot of walking round the area and found a couple of restaurants by chance. Details of where to find these would've been great so again this may be something to consider including for guests. Room was modern and had everything we needed. Spa is great. Will definitely try one of their other hotels in the future.

Very kind staff, nice room and spotlessly clean. The view from the balcony (with its own pool) is simply spectacular 😍
I would have expected something more from the breakfast that make you choose the day before and bring you directly to your room, sweet products not as great as you would expect from such a structure.
In rooms I would suggest to add some hook to hang for example the towel when you get out of the shower or for the bidet towel, in short, some hook in the room as there are only for bathrobes.

If you’ve ever been fortunate enough to stay at Laqua by the Lake, then don’t come to Laqua by the Sea; conversely, if you’ve only visited this outpost in Meta, then don’t let it put you off, as Laqua by the Lake is fabulous. Laqua by the Sea may share its name, but that’s about it. Located in Meta, a dull suburb of Sorrento, the views may be fabulous, but both the area and hotel disappoint. indeed, calling it a hotel is not really correct, as it’s more like a bed and breakfast, with a very poor breakfast to boot. Bottled orange juice combines with other dull fare to provide a poor start to the mornings. The bedrooms are tiny, with bathrooms more likely to be found on a small boat than in a proper hotel. No lift means carrying heavy bags up and down steps, as, being a gentleman, I didn’t want to ask the female staff to do this; all the staff very friendly but certainly nowhere near the standard to be found at their stunning hotel by Lake Orta. I wouldn’t be so critical if the two places didn’t operate under the same brand, which I believe is a mistake, only likely to disappoint, or thrill, whichever one you happen to visit. Jacuzzi on the balconies only add to a health and safety nightmare, and I managed to walk straight in to it, fully dressed, believing it was glass, being so still; my bad I guess. I will stick to my wonderful memories of Laqua by the Lake

Dear Richard R, We appreciate you taking the time to share your concerns regarding your recent stay at our property after the visit to Laqua by the Lake. It saddens us to read that we failed to provide the enjoyable experience our guests are accustomed to. Laqua by the Sea is not a hotel but a Bed & Breakfast, not the classic accommodation but it offers the comforts and services that the experienced traveler research in a hotel, with personal warm and friendly hospitality. Laqua by the Lake has no room but suites and apartments with an indoor restaurant and other characteristic services, Laqua by the Sea hasn’t an indoor restaurant but a special collaboration and treatments at the Restaurant of Laqua Countryside and a little corner for the wellness. All the entities of the brand “Laqua” are unique in themselves for different reasons but the care in detail, the philosophy of hospitality, and specific characteristics are the same for all the 4 Laqua resorts. we are so sorry to read about the accident with the pool, as all the readers can watch online outside the terraces of the room there is a Jacuzzi pool without glass, the little pool is open in front of the pool there is a glass. We'll keep your comments in mind, and we hope you'll allow us another chance to impress you in the not too far future. Customer Care Cannavacciuolo

We didn't expect to stay in a building that was one floor below the road.
The pool water in the room is not hot enough especially in the colder months.
The external curtain that separates the rooms and the pools does not guarantee privacy.
The "partial sea view" is totally inhibited if the neighbors pull the curtain all the way as happened and we were left with the view... on the wall.
The breakfast is not of good quality: frozen croissants, non-fresh bread, banal cakes; in Campania I expect something completely different.
The Wellness Room cannot be defined as "exclusive use" as the massage room can be used by others at the same time as happened.
Frankly, we were excited to try Laqua by the Sea because we thought that the name of Cannavacciuolo (which we admire) and the cost of over €600 for 2 nights with 1* breakfast were a guarantee, but this was not the case.
Instead, the reception staff is top notch, as is the fantastic dinner at the Countryside and the pleasant company of Eduardo who acted as our return pick-up with lots of stops and explanations for the beautiful views, was a gem.
The parking included and very close is much appreciated.

The hotel was clean and the staff were extremely friendly. The rooms have amazing views of the sea and very close to Meta beach. The property is also a short walk to Meta train station that allows you to get the train to Sorrento or Napoli. Overall we had a great stay. I have 2 suggestions, first the shower glass screens need to be covered as they are not practical!! we had 2 of our kids sharing a room (male/female). Every time one of them had to take a shower, the other one had to leave the room! The second point is about the breakfast, need more variety with hot items. I did like the idea of having breakfast in the balcony.

My wife and I ended our 2 week Europe Trip at Laqua and it was the best decision we made. The entire staff was extremely friendly and the daily spa is a great touch. Walking distance to the beach, cafes, bars, & restaurants! The staff was able to make reservations at restaurants for us, and made reservations for multiple excursions. We took a boat out to Capri, did the Amalfi Coast Private Tour, and the Trekking Tour to the Path of Gods. All highly recommend. We will be staying here again! Thanks again to the staff for making this a very memorable trip for us.

Unfortunately, the reality is different from the photos on the website. We had classic room, facing the wall. (Make sure you book the luxury room) Hot tub is very small &cold! (Which was nice with +34C) I would better call it a plunge pool. The space outside (terrace) is separated by the curtains. They are always closed because of private. We couldn't see past the wall either, so completely locked in.
The breakfast we got in the room, was well cared for. ! The hotel is very clean and staff very friendly and customer-oriented. Unfortunately, those are only 3 positive points of this hotel.
Otherwise little to do, Sorrento is at a distance of 3.9 km, too far to walk! . In Meta itself, where hotel is located, there is nothing to do. There is only 1 cozy terrace and that's it. After 5 days you're done.
We have not taken advantage of SPA possibilities, given the outside temperature + 34! Was!
The price of beach beds are between 25-38 euros per day/ p.p
Conclusion: nice stay for Max 2 nights.

I used Easy Private Taxi (you can Google them), and found their service to be very good. A driver was waiting at the scheduled pick-up point at the airport, and my flight back to the states was very early in the morning; they were waiting outside the hotel before the 4:30 a.m. pick-up time!
