I’ve stayed in a fair few different “starred” hotels in various locations around the world, and the majority of those hotels (depending on the star) offer – for the most part - the bare minimum to maintain that particular star rating. The onus is on profit, on maximising what they are taking vs the amount of expense and time they...

Me and my 8year old son just returned from a wonderful stay at Hunter's Country House. The place is sophisticated but also very family friendly. Having stayed at their sister property, Tsala Treetop Lodge before.. I wasnt sure what to expect, as Tsala is outstanding, but at the same time, Hunter's Country Lodge way more affordable.. I was blown away....

Beautiful country house hotel. Attention to the details - not only would we have no hesitation recommending, we would love to return. Even had a visit from a raft of monkeys, having left out one of the delightful homemade cookies. Breakfast, great choice and service, excellent cooked items. Lovely grounds and had a cooling dip in the lovely ( but...

We stayed for two nights as part of our Garden Route holiday and all we can say is that this place is simply magnificent from the moment you are welcomed on arrival with a drink to the moment you leave with a goodie bag. We had booked a suite / lodge - this turned out to be a small thatched...

My husband and I spent a couple of nights at Hunters during our honeymoon in South Africa. It was truly a wonderful experience and a great place to celebrate my birthday. The breakfast every morning was lovely and one of the best we experienced during our holiday. Our room was a 'semi-detached' cottage which was very well furnished and the...

The property is located at the end of a bumpy dirt road which opens up into lush green gardens and forests in utter tranquility. Check in? Nope. Relax, have a refreshing welcome cocktail on a comfy sofa, fill out...

From the welcome outside as we were driving into the property to the goodbye gift of water and cookies in a bag, the whole (unfortunately only one night) stay felt like we were treated like special guests. Amazing service from everyone working in the hotel! The room was tastefully decorated and had everything we needed, the guest lounge was beautiful...

My husband and I spent 2 nights here on a 10 day tour of the Garden Route. We stayed in a deluxe pool suite. The properties are thatched and furnished with traditional period furniture and set in beautiful secluded gardens with lots of little extras like homemade biscuits, tea and coffee and sherry. The service was good - very friendly staff...
