From the moment we arrived at Hunter's Country House we knew we had made the right choice. What a wonderful experience. The property is located at the end of a bumpy dirt road which opens up into lush green gardens and forests in utter tranquility. Check in? Nope. Relax, have a refreshing welcome cocktail on a comfy sofa, fill out...

From the welcome outside as we were driving into the property to the goodbye gift of water and cookies in a bag, the whole (unfortunately only one night) stay felt like we were treated like special guests. Amazing service from everyone working in the hotel! The room was tastefully decorated and had everything we needed, the guest lounge was beautiful...

My husband and I spent 2 nights here on a 10 day tour of the Garden Route. We stayed in a deluxe pool suite. The properties are thatched and furnished with traditional period furniture and set in beautiful secluded gardens with lots of little extras like homemade biscuits, tea and coffee and sherry. The service was good - very friendly staff...

This is a real hideaway just outside Plettenberg Bay set in large beautifully tended grounds. If you don't mind being outside Plettenburg Bay this is a great choice. We had Suite 19 which is a 2 bedroomed thatched cottage with private pool and garden. The bed we had was huge and comfortable. Bathrooms are well appointed and there is a...

We have stopped and eaten dinner at this hotel several times before. I hoped it had not changed, and it had not. It is still a first class hotel, as etched in our memory. We stayed for four lovely days, unfortunately we forgot to book Zinzi, and as usual it was fully booked especially at this time of year. So...

I wanted to love this place even more. The accommodation was phenomenal - our own private cottage with plenty of space. the welcome was very warm and the library/ bar area very quaint. So what let it down? It just felt like a main stream hotel at breakfast and the evening meal, whilst nice, was nothing special. 5/5 for the...

We stayed at this hotel on a tour of South Africa. It is definitely the best hotel that my partner or I have ever stayed in. From the welcome meeting to checking out, every detail was attended to perfection. Beautiful surroundings with lovely decor. Staff are pleasant and so obliging (none will hang around for tips, you have to almost...

We unfortunately only stayed here one night as a stop off when travelling the Garden Route. What an amazing place. We stayed in Suite 9. My son had his own bedroom and ensuite to the left of the entrance porch. Rooms were clean and everything was catered for, including a selection of DVDs and games to keep him entertained. Our...
