Excellent place to stay in Piedmont. We used it as a stop over on our way further south and it is fairly close to the motorway but also an idyllic setting. Castle is beautiful and restaurant was excellent too. We took a Dinner Bed and Breakfast deal which was very good value. The staff were very welcoming. Our room was a suite with a modern stylish bathroom, good shower. The bedroom was in keeping with the old style of the castle and with a very comfy bed.

Excellent location and services, well-organised rooms with hydromassage tub. Very nice restaurant, excellent dinner in front of the fireplace. Very kind and helpful staff. Nice place to relax. The visit to the Nizza Monferrato winery which is part of the package, a pleasant surprise.

Magnificent location for a special evening. Excellent aperitifs, excellent dinner and after dinner. The service was impeccable and ready to our every request. You and my friends at my table enjoyed the evening in full. Definitely to be repeated!!!

Virgilio and his team make for a wonderful stay in the elegant castello of oviglio. The myriad of rooms decorated in olde world charm will delight anyone who enjoys things the way they used to be. We enjoyed some very fine wines and antipasto in the cellar and breakfast was even better the second morning when it was brought up to us on several silver platters. The rooms are enormous, ours had an area just for watching the tv, flatscreen of course! the bathroom was an absolute pleasure, double basins, huge shower with marvellous pressure, elagant fittings throughout, even the bath had jets for a spa! A little dark in our room on the 3rd floor but still good value for money.

The place is not easy to find and you definitely need a car to get there. The hotel is a real old castle, a little dark. Huge clean rooms with modern bathroom fittings (some needing repair) and a huge LCD TV. Good breakfast buffet and very friendly staff.

This is a castle with a lot of charm. The rooms are very nice partly old but with new bathrooms wich is huge. This is the best value for money hotel i have stayed on. The service was world class. We came late in the evening but we where served a good 5 course meal in the castle garden at our request. The waitor was fantastic and so was the scenery! Oviglio is not a town in it self but is very close to all of the piemonte vinyards. And also beautiful towns like Aqui Terme.

Would we come again? No. Booked a Junior suite as we wanted more space. Third floor room was huge with separate TV area bath and shower, walk-in closet bed area large with table and chairs and mini bar with free beer and water. This seems to be a popular wedding location otherwise is very quiet. Restaurant quiet but very average. Top marks to Andrea, for looking after us and providing great service but hotel does not merit another stay. Choose somewhere else.

Well off the beaten path, this hotel in a real castle was amazing, beautiful, very enjoyable. We had a large room with en suit the size of a small apartment. Dinner at the castle that evening was fantastic, with views of the valley below, the farms, woods, horses. If you're looking to enjoy castle life, even for a day, this is the place.

This hotel is a little off the beaten path but well worth the visit.
Set in an old castle, the rooms are spacious and beautifully decorated with antiques. The hotel offers all the modern comforts including high speed free wifi,spacious bathrooms and cable tv with many language channels.The service and attention to the customer however remain pleasantly old fashioned and personal. Carlo,the restaurant manager ensures that.
The food served by the castles restaurant was impeccable and served in an historic dining room.
Although a four star this hotel is reasonably priced and represents excellent value.
Well worth a visit for the food, the ambience and the service.

"the rooms are a mix of modern and antique, persoally i would have preferred the ancient variety, however as we wre travelling with our daughter the only rooms which featured an extra bed were the modern ones. The rooms are extremely spacious, we stayed on the 3rd floor, it was extremly quiet, except for the cooing of the pigeons - which our cats found very interesting. The top floor is dark having not a lot of natural light, but the bathroom was top of the line, a real surprise in asuch an ancient property."Read full review
