Caroline Gemmell has created a slice of heavenly home from home, from a time when 'things were done properly'. Staying here was like going back in time to stay with my granny, which was always a very special occasion. It was a great privilege to be so warmly welcomed to Caroline's beautiful, immaculately tasteful yet hugely comfortable home. She and...

Close the the Midlands meander. Balm for the soul. Home from home. Caroline is a fantastic host. As my parents are in one of the many retirement home in Howick, it is heaven to come home to for a bed.

Stayed here for 4 nights. Slept like a baby. Cosy rooms, log fires and the hostess Caroline Gemmel is so wonderful. Beautiful setting with elegant delicious breakfasts. Would recommend this to anyone Credit card facilities available and only 3 kms from the Ambers and Howick

Once again, my wife and I stayed at Caroline Gemmell's Harrow Hill B and B, to break our journey to Durban. After sneaking past an evening duiker, we were given our usual, warm welcome and comfortable, spacious room. Sleep quality on this small farm is excellent, Dinner at one of Howick's restaurants is a few minutes' drive away and Caroline's...

Booking was a pleasure and when we arrived, our hostess, Caroline, was waiting to meet us. The B & B is exactly as the pictures were and each room so beautifully appointed. In fact the pieces around the whole house were beautiful. We had three rooms and they were all great. My bed was comfortable, the area quiet and that...

We stayed at Caroline's beautiful B and B for only one night - the home was charming with very comfortable accommodation and relaxing views - wish we could have stayed longer but had to move on. The little touches made it so special.

Great place, very neat and clean. Close to the farmers market and town but very quiet with a farm like feeling. Nice swimming pool to use during the warmer days as well. Large old farm style rooms and lovely breakfast in the morning.

I have had the pleasure of staying at Harrow Hill on a number of occasions. It is located close to the Amber retirement villages, so it makes a great place to stay when visiting family. It is a beautiful farmhouse with a charming hostess in Caroline. The Breakfasts are marvellous! Definitely worth staying there if you are in Howick.

A welcome stopover on the way south. Comfort and charm of Caroline ensured we had all that was needed to make our stay memorable. Early morning tea was served to prepare us for the the perfect breakfast that was to sustain us till the evening meal at a recommended restaurant. We always look forward to a return visit.
