I loved this lovely sanctuary in the quiet Sonoran river valley. It was clean, comfortable and very charming. The patio is absolutely lovely and the food was awesome- a sweet oasis. Thank you Los Arcos!

The Hotel Los Arcos is beautifully furnished. The rooms are each unique, filled with items of art that you can't find in a retail store. The hosts were very attentive, willing to fill every need. We were lucky enough to have dinner prepared for us both nights we were there.

In one of the smallest towns I have ever been I was brought to this jewel of a hotel. I isn't luxurious but it is almost like being in a spiritual retreat. Owned by an American couple that makes one feel like "you have arrived home". I usually go out and leave my room door unlocked, just because the surroundings...

This is our favorite place to visit in Mexico, and each time we return Tom and Lynn have made their hotel even more special. In addition to running such a special, relaxing hotel, they are so friendly and accommodating that they make you feel like guests in their home. Their wonderful staff also do everything within their power to make...

Spent a couple of nights in the beautiful town of Banamichi at the cozy, comfortable Hotel Los Arcos de Sonora. It's been a longtime wish of ours to visit here, and we were very happy to have stayed with our helpful hosts, Lynn and Tom. All the staff were wonderful also. Can't wait to return!

Los Arcos is beautiful with an exquisite interior courtyard. Rooms are very nicely turned out and a pleasure to stay in. Lynn and Tom were extremely gracious hosts. Tom even opened up their personal house to us when we expressed an interest in how it was constructed(straw bale). Overall a wonderful visit in a beautiful hotel and town.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
A little paradise on the Rio Sonora, Hotel Los Arcos de Sonora is the perfect setting to experience the romantic charm of old Mexico. Eleven individually decorated rooms offer luxurious pillow top beds, elegant bedding, air conditioning/heat, ceiling fans and spacious private bathrooms. Ten of the eleven rooms face the intimate interior courtyard filled with lush gardens and the soothing sounds of cascading water. The traditional Mexican style wood burning fireplace under the ramada takes the chill off on cool days and nights. View the pueblo and the surrounding mountains from the second floor terraza and gaze at the star filled sky at night. Motorcyclists are welcome here. Both Tom and Lynn ride and provide daily routes of the most exciting roads in Sonora. Tom would be delighted to ride along and be your personal guide. If you want to bring a group, we have special room rates, equipment for group presentations and our Mexican chef, prepares traditional Sonoran cuisine for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Adjacent to the hotel we have created a special place for parties complete with pool, seating, an adobe oven for pizza, and an acedor (grill). This is an area that offers wonderful opportunities for adventure, exploring and visiting the past. All along the Rio Sonora are 17 century Spanish churches, hot and warm springs, hiking, horseback riding, traditional Sonoran foods, hunting ranches, friendly people, artisans creating beautiful mesquite furniture, women making tortillas and traditional Mexican cookies and much much more. Our special brand of Sonoran hospitality welcomes every visitor and will bring you back again and again. We invite you to visit our tranquil and safe community and come to know the magic of the Rio Sonora Valley. Tom and Lynn Matthews own and operate Hotel Los Arcos and live full time in Banamichi to ensure you have the perfect stay. ... more   less
