We loved our stay here. It is a restored old school house overlooking the water. We had the home to ourselves. The bedroom was comfortable as well as the private bath and the breakfast was amazing ( dinner was offered if we needed it). We have scheduled another visit for this summer and really look forward to it.

Finding your way to Planasker Old School in the village of Marbhig, about an hour's drive south-east of Stornoway is not easy, but at the end of the windy little road you are rewarded by one of the most interesting and beautiful b&bs that you are ever likely to find. The old school house has been restored sensitively and lovingly,...

This place was beautifully appointed and it was nice to have use of a very large sitting room with music and a fire. The highlight was possibly the food as the owner is a talented cook. The visit started well with excellent cake and the evening meal was great. There was attention to detail: the porridge was the best we...

We had three wonderful days at Heather and Martin´s in Marvig! The house is beautifully furnished and the view is breathtaking. The room is very cosy and we enjoyed listening to excellent BBC programme on the vintage radio! We got excellent food both for breakfast and dinner, thank you, Heather. This stay here was the highlight of our trip to...

We stayed here for three very relaxing, stress free days. The Old School is in a most peaceful and scenic location overlooking the sea loch, definitely somewhere to get away from it all. Martin and Heather are very welcoming and nothing is too much trouble. It was lovely to return from a day of exploration to a log fire and...

Wonderful location and wonderful hospitality in an Old School House that is full of character. Very special. If you are looking for something out of the ordinary, this could be it. We loved our stay here. A beautiful but remote location that is ideal if you are seeking peace and quiet in beautiful surroundings. A warm welcome waits you.

Planasker is a really special place in a fantastic location. Heather and Malcolm provided a warm welcome and their beautifully restored home was a really comfortable place to relax. The open fire was a real treat, as was the excellent food. Thank you for a wonderful few days.

Before booking Planasker Old School we read the previous reviews and looked at all the photographs, so our expectations were pretty high. However when we arrived it was far beyond what we expected. The almost other worldly landscapes on the drive there, the amazing location on the edge of the sea loch, the very warm welcome from Heather with coffee...

We stayed 3 nights at Planasker Old School during our stay on Lewis&Harris, which was the highlight of our Hebrides tour. Easily the best B&B we've ever been! The location is stunning: remote unspoiled beauty with the house overlooking a loch and the distant hills beyond. These views are spellbinding from the road approaching the house, from the front of...
