The only good thing about this place is the view. No hot water, No sheets on the bed, just a stinky blanket. No double room available. Staff was nice though. Least favorite spot of our El Salvador holiday.
We paid for the suite, nothing fancy just 2 big beds. The bathroom door doesn't close and it looks aged and not well maintained. They claim they don't make use of plastic straws but guess what? Exactly.
We paid for the suite and there was nothing special or fancy about it, only the room was bigger and had 2 queen beds but there was no mini bar, no hand towels or bathroom amenities, we had to go to reception and ask for soap, shampoo and towels (because there was no phone in the room). the second day there was no running water for the toilet or shower, we asked and they say there were repairing but it should work in short time and then when it did the water came out dirty, we would not shower or brush our teeth with it. The pool was dirty and it is really small. Waiters were nice but the reception person not so happy. Nothing special about this place anymore, specially not for couples or families, maybe for friends who are looking for a place to crash after an entire day of party at the beach at the bars nearby. …
I recently stayed at Hotel Tekuani Kal. Overall, the stay was okay, beautiful views from the hotel room and staff was very friendly and helpful. I stayed in this hotel as part of a tour. Rooms were fairly basic, decently clean and comfortable beds. It was well located, however at the time we stayed the beach wasn't safe to swim. We had cockroaches and ants in our room and salt water in the taps and shower. For a budget conscious traveler, I'd stay here, however next time I would definitely chose to stay elsewhere.
The view from the balconies and infinity pool is lovely. The food was good, including the breakfast. Staff were friendly, but none spoke English. There was good security. The location is good..quiet but close to the action in El Tunco. Small, very low beds; threadbare towels. I thought it was overpriced...these are 50-60 dollar rooms, not 90.
This place is great, it has a great view to the ocean from the small swimming pool and also a spot right infront of the beach to chill on hammocks. The waiters are nice and the food is good. Plus you are at walking distance to many other bars that stay open late on the weekend.
Excellent service!!! Can say anything bad about this place, balcony has the perfect view, room was nice and cool, friendly people, room service is the best. Looking forward to go back to this place...
came here for a 3 day weekend, the hotel has a good location, in el tuncos main road. The hotels entrance is pretty green, big garden and it goes into a restaurant, foods good and service is good too. the rooms are pretty basic, had problems with the AC had to switch rooms and still it wasnt cooling and el tunco is freaking hoooot and humid, couldnt get decent AC. but everything else was good, the rooms have a small terrace overlooking the ocean.
Hotel Tekuani Kal fits the bill if you're after a clean and comfortable beachfront property with key facilities included - pool, wifi, bar and restaurant. We stayed here on a Monday night for 3 nights so our experience could be very different to the crazy weekends El Tunco is famed for. The highlight for us was the shaded beachfront hammocks which were consistently used for our siestas and conveniently guarded to ensure we could rest in peace. Bedrooms are clean with average bathrooms (the shower by the beach was far superior). The rooms seem a mixture of sizes and quality so if you're fussed about having space then ensure you pay a little bit more to get that added bit of luxury. Beds were fairly firm with rock hard pillows and the air conditioning seems to be permanently set on an arctic setting but this was much preferred to the intense humidity. Breakfast seems to be always be included and has a mixture of local and western offerings and all were decent. English is a bit hit and miss but that's all part of the fun in this corner of the world. Location wise the property is only a few minutes walk into town and easily accessed. All in all Hotel Tekuani Kal was the perfect place to unwind and relax with a few quirks along the way. …
We stayed in one of the mid range rooms that is located below the restaurant. They have balconies that are a great place to enjoy a sunset or watch the surf. Room wasn't overly impressive, but is comfortable with A/C and cable TV. Breakfast was nice and included. The bartender goes above and beyond all the time. The waterfall feature, A/C, and ocean drowns out any noise that may be going on. This place is far enough from any partying going on in Tunco and close enough to quickly join it. It overlooks La Bocana/La Bocanita.
