Hotel's Favourite
We were only there for one night but we wish it was much longer. The hotel is a beautiful, classic building in the centre of Vilafranca. Photos on any website do not do the interior justice as it is modern and elegant using fine fabrics and materials. Best of all was the warm welcome at reception. The receptionist / manager was professional and kind and got our stay off to a great start. Thank you - we will be back.

I’m not wanting to be too harsh but the hotel let itself down on a number of fronts, that saying I wish to complement the staff who were just wonderful. It started when the hotel wouldn’t allow me to change my booking by dropping it back a day as only the day before, realised that on the Monday it was a Bank holiday, so nowhere in the town was open and as a visitor this the main purpose of the visit. If I didn’t turn up then I would lose the whole payment. Not very good customer relations especially as the hotel wasn’t busy the following day. The problem was compounded as most of the restaurants, including the hotels, were closed due to the festival. As mentioned, the staff were excellent, in so much as they found a restaurant for us but when we arrived sadly it was closed due to the exceptional busy lunchtime trade and couldn’t provide an evening service. An alternative was suggested and we went there and enjoyed a fine meal. While the room was comfortable and had all that was necessary it was a little noisy from 6am due to the traffic passing immediately outside. We paid for breakfast, not inexpensive, but definitely not worth it. Coffee(Luke warm) fresh juice(very nice) 2slices of overdone hard toast, selection of confectionery cakes. Cheese was an optional extra!!! Not good for a hotel of this quality. Apart from the team who gave excellent customer service, the amenities within the hotel lacked somewhat. We came away feeling a little disappointed with our stay

We arrived in mid-afternoon to a vacant entrance area. I did not have my reservation number readily accessible to me on this rainy afternoon, but check-in using a credit card and last name was supposedly available. Available unless, of course, your credit card was issued in the U.S. where banks do not provide "Secret Numbers". Fortunately two tourists from the U.K. were also staying here and they eventually returned to the hotel and let us in to the lobby and out of the rain. We were "locked out" of a reserved (and previously paid for) room for more than 45 minutes. Take this under advisement.... There is an "emergency" telephone number provided (legible -- with effort -- from outside the hotel) on a desk placard. That number takes you to a person in Barcelona who says he will "contact the responsible parties" -- but who does not apparently (according to the "surprised" employee who eventually discovers us in the lobby). We find the room safe locked in the open position, lighting to be terrible, the sink stopper having been "repaired" by an amateur (I removed it to allow drainage), the air conditioning turned off at the "main", and the shower to be a total mystery (the large knob on the far right controls water temp, the small knob to its left the water flow to the hand-held, the small knob to the right the overhead). There is plenty of hot water, the shower area could host a small dinner party, but there is no desk area or small table available. The bed, however, is very comfortable.

Pre Christmas stop over. Old building beautifully restored and converted with ultra modern design. Amazing beds and bathrooms. But auto check in, closed bar and restaurant, doors too narrow for my wheelchair, a lighting system that needs a PhD, flaky WiFi. However it’s very convenient in town centre.

We suddenly found two free days and decided to visit Cava country, this hotel was a perfect place to stay while we walked and biked around the area visiting wineries and tasting the regional wines, including Cava. The hotel is nice, clean and our stay was without any of the issues others warned of: plenty of hot water and we were exhausted so lighting was more than adequate. I would skip the breakfast, the hotel is centrally located and there are plenty of options for food. It's not a five star hotel hence the four stars but it's a great value and place to stay, we will stay again.

Well situated in the center of the city with a view over a beautiful square. 1900th century architecture outside. Pleasant staff and close to many restaurants. Room with air condition. A bit expensive for what it is and the breakfast was very, very expensive (15€/ person) and really not worth the money it was honestly very poor with not much choice. No hotel parking. Room decoration was modern but cold style.

I have travelled around the World but never been to a 4 star Hotel that has a self check in. It's so impersonal this Hotel with hardly any Human contact. Nobody is in the Hotel for 24 hours. Wonder what would happen if there was an emergency. Otherwise the rooms are neat and clean.

The room was so modern it was uncomfortable and difficult to use. Even the desk clerk could not make some of the lights work. People who prefer modern would probably enjoy the features. The breakfast was excellent.

We enjoyed our stay overall. The room was spacious and I liked the set up with the bathroom. I also liked that it was very much a boutique hotel. However, a few things took it from being a 5/5 to a 4. - There was no hot water in the morning, this made for an unpleasant start to the day. - There are doors you draw to give privacy and block out the light, however light emanates from the ends and they don't work that well. The room is poorly lit, lots of spot lights but it's still too dark. - Coffee was 2€ each - really? Especially for push button coffee. Also, the bar staff the evening before admitted it was her first day and she professed to not knowing much. I only wanted two glasses of wine! - Also, the parking "deal" wasn't that much of a deal to be honest. Staff were overall courteous and friendly and the location, well you can't get more central! All in all a pretty good stay, I'd stay again.

Great location, many restaurants in walking distance and lots of room for parking in the nearby streets. We arrived late so we used the check in automat. It worked well, but accepted only the third credit card it was offerred (Visa). The room was beautiful, very up-to-date and spacious. What a shower, like a spa! The air conditioning worked well and the bed was comfortable. Overall a very nice stay.
