Beautiful hotel resort in tenerife - attended a wedding there in July 2014 and liked it so much that we're having our wedding there in June 2015. Amazing service, good selection of restaurants on site, and staff are happy to recommend local places to eat and drink also

As I sit in Abama with the family having a yummy Italian meal overlooking the koi carp pond, I can't help but reflect on what a marvellous set up the Abama is. The restaurants are lovely, the food is excellent quality. The beAch is divine and private-the pools are lovely and there is one to cater for every holiday maker....

Biggest plus was that staff were naturally very friendly and helpful. The rooms were excellent (top floor in new part overlooking the pool and the sea (at a distance). View was nice (for Tenerife) especially at sunrise. Food the first two nights was excellent (the Tapas restaurant and El Mirador - fish) but the next two nights the food, service...

2nd time at this hotel, although our last stay was 7 years ago. A very good hotel with plenty of facilities as you would expect. Best bits - swimming pools, spa, gym, grounds & bedrooms. Great hotel for relaxation and being 'Away from it all'

I played the Abama golf course for the third time last week. We won't be going again. At 200 euros, it's the most expensive golf course in Tenerife. There are some interesting holes but no more interesting than the 2nd. I play off 8 handicap and hit my drive 230 yards up the hill, right in the middle of the...

I have to agree with many of the previous reviewers who loved this hotel. I can't understand how anyone can have a negative view of it. The grounds and hotel are immaculate, with maintenance men working from early morning to keep the gardens neat and tidy. it's like walking through a botanical park. We found all the staff so friendly,...

We have a five year old child and found a room big enough for the 3 of us. Staff are very accomadating, food is good to excellent depending where you book in the resort. Beach is small, sandy and fab. Some of the "brits abroad" were a bit moany about the service, but we always found them helpful and fun....

If you are used to go to Asia or the Carribbean at Christmas time and you've been hesitant about possibly "trying" the Abama because it's not far and there is no time difference, then... DON'T! It is a ridiculously large place, trying to be chic and upscale when it's just not. It's like a mall on sea. The staff are...

This is a huge place, transportation is needed for everything: going to breakfast, going to the beach (own "cable car"), going to the spa (excellent therapists), going to this or that restaurant. If you have a villa room, you get your own buggy, if not you must wait for the hotel electric "trains" that will wisk you around. This is...

Ritz Carlton Abama is quite a large hotel, beautifully designed, reminiscent of the old Moroccan sand fortresses of the Atlas Mountains. It's an oasis of luxury on an island that probably isn't renowned for quality overall. We visited the week before Christmas, and the hotel was predictably quiet and calm. Most guests were families with younger kids, or older couples...
