We were looking for a base to research a place for sale or rent. This was a perfect choice. 5 mins from the beach (walking slowly) 2 mins from all the bars and restaurants you could want in the old part of town and still just a short walk from all the shopping areas. Caroline, the owner, is very friendly...

Thank you Rob and Liz!! It was my pleasure and I shall see you very soon now that you have rented for a year in Alicante!! All the best! Caroline

This is a small pension behind the church of St. Nicholas on a cobbled street. Congenial hostess Caroline makes one feel at home. She knows Alicante and helps with directions and problems. Although my ensuite was small, it was efficient and clean. This little pension is affordable, located near bus lines, the main thoroughfare and the central market.

Pension San Nicolas is in an ideal location close to many bars and tapas restaurants. Also within easy walking distance of the fort and the beach. We stayed in a room with a small balcony and a tiny bathroom. We figured we would not be spending much time in the room so the size didn't matter. We kept the balcony...

Hola!! thank you for your kind comment! If I can, I let the guests choose betwen the double with bathroom with balcony and the other double without balcony but with bigger bathroom, always informing of course that the weekends are noisy as we are the party zone! The pension is the center so closed to absolutely anything and everything, great...

It was a great time in Alicante! The hotel is located in the old city center, close to the beach, restaurants, shops and public transport (TRAM and buses). Our room was very comfortable, with efficient air condition. The bathrooms were clean and tidy. We felt like at home :) Caroline is a very nice and helpful person, she gave us...

In late July there is construction going on in the building (which obviously the hostal can't control) but be aware if you're looking to sleep past 9am. It was only really disruptive one morning. That being said, I really enjoyed my stay, very comfortable. The one-man room is tiny but comfortable, it has all you need, a small bed, good...

Hi Noah! Thank you for your great comment! The works on the third floor appartment are finally ending...! In regards to the time of arrival, it is required to advise your time of arrival. I have to start by saying I have traveled all over the world and have never had so much value for so little money in a non-third world country.....ever! The very reasonable rates and excellent location are what enticed me to pick this lovely pension.....but WOW, what a gem. The rooms are extremely well fitted out: lush cotton robe, coffee/tea...

The Pension is perfectly situated in the old town, just a few minutes stroll from the beach, the port, taxi/bus links to the airport and literally dozens of lovely bars and restaurants. The room had a private bathroom, with good shower, and was spotlessly clean. Beds comfortable and we slept really well - only minus point was that the window...

We love Alicante and this was our third visit. This was our third visit and although previous places were great, we have now found the perfect place at...

Given that it was Easter week I was surprised that I was able to book just the one night. My surprise was compounded by the central-old-city location and the modern room with a pretty little balcony. And I was made to feel most welcome - at home - even though I arrived earlier than forewarned.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The pension is a little hotel of 8 bedrooms (4 doubles, 2 singles, 1 for 3 persons and 1 for 4 persons). 5 of the bedrooms have got their own private bathroom and the 3 remaining are sharing 2 bathrooms. The pension is located in the heart of the old town, just behind the Cathedral San Nicolas. It´s next to all the bars, cafes and restaurants. In 5 minutes walk from here you are at the Alicante beach El Postiguet and next to all the site of interests....the port, the castle Santa Barbara, the old quarter Santa Cruz, the main street La Rambla, the theatre, the town hall, the Tram which takes you to the beach of San Juan & Campello. The pension is managed by its owner, Caroline, and its aim is to be as welcoming and helpful as possible offering a great range of tips and advises on your arrival in Alicante. As the pension is next to the night bars, at week ends some of the rooms are noisy but this is perfect for party goers or heavy sleepers! The reception opening hours are 10h30 - 23h00. The hosts are given a set of keys on arrival which allow them to enter anytime...just like at home and that´s the aim of this small place....for you to feel just like at home! ... more   less
