Lovely hotel with a stunning view, it is a colonial mansion, located in a tranquil valley outside Agaete. With a backdrop of craggy mountains, a pool surrounded in palm trees and a tropical garden filled with oranges, lemons, papayas and avocados. Relaxing by the pool looking at the mountains is just perfect. The staff were very friendly and in my... More

After our second day on the island exploring the North West villages and coasts we drove out of Agaete, inland to find the accommodation we had pre-booked. The road took us through a beautiful scenic lush valley and we spotted the Finca from a distance and knew we had chosen well. We were welcomed by the helpful housekeeper on duty... More

The hotel is near the picturesque village of Agaete and the port of Puerto de Las Nievas where their are several restaurants clustered around the harbour. The hotel is located in El Valle and surrounded by orchards and behind are the grand hills of Tamadaba. What makes the hotel so special is the delightful old fashioned charm of the rooms,... More

Las Longueras was a really nice and peaceful alternative to the mass-marketed package accommodation of the south of the island. We stayed for four nights whilst completing spectacular cliff and inland walks. The house is full of rustic charm. Our room was lovely, breakfasts were excellent, and we had one evening meal in which was also very good. The Spring... More

More a country house than a hotel and clearly much favoured by elderly Brits relaxing in the delightful quiet countryside of the Agaete valley. The rooms are very grand with high ceilings, artwork and solid antique furniture. The staff are courteous and polite. You can walk along quiet lanes right from the hotel or go up to the head of... This beautiful old building has a wonderful setting, grounds worth exploring with a gorgeous cactus garden. We arrived at the end of a long, tough hike and were immediately whisked to our room -- paperwork and passports could wait until morning. A lovely room with a large bathroom, excellent dinners and the breakfast buffet was on an outdoor terrace with... More

We stayed here for the last 2 days of a walking holiday. It is an old colonial style house in a beautiful, peaceful setting. The breakfasts were excellent served in what is called the 'snack bar' though it's really a lovely veranda overlooking orange trees and the hills. There is an honestly bar for drinks at other times for guests... More

If you drool over old furniture, tall dressers filled with blue and white bone china plates and faded paintings, then you will like this place. Our room was of a reasonable size with a king-size double bed, safe and a fridge but it was quite dark. The windows had shutters, which opened on to a set of steps at the... More

This is a wonderful place a couple of miles up the valley from the attractive little town of Agaete. Las Longueras is a fine colonial finca with orange orchards, its own cactus garden and magnificent views. It’s rather timeless and beautifully peaceful. There’s a veranda (they call it the snack bar which certainly doesn’t do it justice) where you have... More

We stayed for 9 days in late January early February this year. It is like being a house guest in a charming old country house which provides an authentic experience of country life . A great place to get away from everything and enjoy good breakfasts, great sleeps, walks and a generally chilled out atmosphere.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Known as "La Casa Roja" or Red House, this mansion was built as an autumnal residence in the centre of agricultural land growing oranges, avocados, mangos and papayas. This surprising Hotel oozes harmony from all four walls. In its exquisite decoration the clean lines stand out, along with the wood harmoniously blended with bright fabrics, the colour range and the collection of photographs, paintings and antiques lining the corridors and rooms. The garden captivates visitors due to its centuries-old trees, fruit trees and the care with which it is looked after, perfumed in spring by the delicate smell of saffron. ... more   less
