Are you searching for high-quality historic apartments for short-term lets in a real French chateau at very reasonable prices? Then look no further. The Chateau des Sablons in the famous wine-making village of Bourgueil in the Loire Valley is for you. This is a classic small French chateau dating from the mid-18th century when the aristocracy still ruled in some...

Our family of four (daughters 9 and 5) had a lovely relaxed stay here. The chateau is very attractive and nicely furnished and the pool and gardens were a lovely refuge after a hard day traipsing around chateaux. Bourgueil is a nice village with good eating options. While it is further west than some of the most popular chateaux (1.5...

After making our reservations online with Chateau des Sablons, our confirmation was sent in the form of a subsequent e-mail containing a 20 page Word document titled "The Concierge Book". The title is misleading, because it's real purpose is to lay down the rules, or dos and don'ts, of staying at the Chateau. Upon arrival, we were soundly scolded by...

We were not amused by this guest. Either the owners or the manager meet every guest. The guest tells us when they will arrive and we arrange to be there for them. These guests arrived 4 1/2 hours late, without calling or notifying us. Next day the wife decided to enter the private parts of the Chateau without permission and...

We had one of the 1 bedroom vineyard suites and it was spacious and comfortable - super king sized bed, good shower, well-equipped kitchen with quality appliances; could have done with a few more saucepans though. But the Big Downside which we should have spotted before taking it on - No washing machine or even any laundry facilities on site;...

The Chateau des Sablons offered our family of 6 a perfect location to experience a special part of France, the Loire Valley. Our hosts Jean-Pierre & George were friendly, attentive and supportive; going over and beyond to offer assistance when we experienced a minor accident in our travels. Their hospitality was personal & outstanding. The accomodation offered in the Coach...

Chateau des Sablons is absolutely beautiful and apartments are well-equipped. The booking process with George was straightforward and easy. We were slightly concerned when we received a concierge book a few weeks before listing all of the rules. Upon check-in, Jean Pierre gave us a tour of the grounds and kept referencing what we began calling the "rule book" as...

Each guests receives a copy of our Concierge Book about a month prior to arrival. It's a 20 page book that describes the Chateau, how things work in the apartments, services available in the region, where to find the grocery stores, the post office, the laundromats, as well as a summary of the restuarants and cafes in the immediate area....
