Booked a long weekend break on a special offer from Sandy Balls for the month of January. Wasn't sure how it would be at that time of year. We needed a relaxing time after a busy working xmas. Wooden chalet was pefect, warm and very cosy with the electric fire. Had everything we needed. Ouselves and grown up children. Couldn't...

On first sight it looks like it is ready for a bit of money spending on it . The lodges near the entrance are looking shabby. The checking in area was poor and was not given much of an overall view to the park . On travelling to the caravan area there was a lot of big potholes which obviously...

Having a lovely rest here in a really well equipped comfortable and warm log cabin, with our two dogs. January can be pretty miserable weather wise and it is a bit murky, but the warm welcome throughout this site is very uplifting! The dog friendly pub serves really nice (typical pub menu )food at reasonable cost with a special welcome...

Have just finished my third visit to Sandy Balls and have thoroughly enjoyed each and every stay. The Lodges are wonderful, cosy and warm and beautifully clean. Staff are all so friendly and nothing is too much trouble. On several occasions we ate The Forest Table. Wonderful food, Pasta dishes to die for and in huge amounts, not complaining though!!!...

I never actually made a booking as I spent a considerable amount of time online when I couldn't get a view of the different kinds of accommodation for some reason and the calendar seemed to be stuck on January. Has anyone else had this problem? Eventually hoping to get some help on the phone, I encountered a very cheeky young...

The accommodation was very welcoming and home from home plus well equipped kitchen. The entertainment was good and the kids loved the alpaca walk and bike hire. It is lovely place to unwind and relax.

I've been to sandy balls on several occasions as a tourer. The only time now that is affordable is away from the summer months as it's ridiculously priced then. Food is not cheap either compared to other sites. I'm hoping this company that have bought in will look at affordability for families and make some changes.

Spent a week over Christmas in a lodge at sandy balls. We had a lovely time, loads of activities for the kids, wonderful carol concert, lovely staff. The only thing that could have made our stay better would have been snow.

Third visit, this time in a lodge. Lovely walks, pool and food. Will definitely be back! Only negative I can think of is the lodges weren't massively warm. Ate in both restaurants and enjoyed both. Lovely and quiet too!

We have just spent 5 nights in our caravan & have had a great time. We stayed on pitch 25 which was near to a play area which was ideal for our son. I booked 3 activities for my son: painting sun catchers, crazy creatures & clay play. We had fun at them all. We also took our dog &...
