On first impression this establishment seemed quite quirky, there is a lot of paraphernalia throughout the pub. We booked in and the owner took us to our room which was converted stables. The room was very dark and dingy and cold, There was a radiator...More

A non friendly welcome, a dirty and damp room with work out features. The smell of damp kept waking me. The damp issue was over powering, the room felt closed in, dark, poor tv and poor Wi-Fi reception.

Miserable dingy room very dated, peeling paint in bathroom stained shower curtain, not a good experience. Very dark entrance to room with steps. Only a bedside table on one side of double bed. Needs a complete refurb and new furniture. Friendly welcoming staff though.

About
Description
Situated between between Sandleheath and Fordingbridge - a riverside town on the edge of The New Forest. You can walk to the town from the pub in about 10 minutes. The old railway line is at the end of the road and More leads to many more walks, bluebell woods and open countryside. Salisbury is about 12 miles away to the north whilst Bournemouth and The Jurassic Coast are an easy drive away.Slightly quirky interior with an eclectic mix of stuff on the walls, a fireplace and a screen showing old black and white movies. The food is produced in our own kitchen by a dedicated team using seasonal produce from The New Forest and surrounds. It is a constantly changing feast. Less
