My wife and I booked a room at this property at the end of December for the night of March 18. We got 2 reminders from Booking.com confirming our booking during the 2 weeks leading up to our booking. When we arrived at the pre-arranged time, there was no one to meet us and we had to use our North American cell phone to contact the owners. They informed us that our booking had been cancelled due to over-booking - 2.5 months before the appointed date! Maybe it was coincidence that our booking turned out to be over a Madrid public holiday weekend and perhaps a higher room rate could be charged closer to the time. So beware when considering this property and also of Booking.com who failed to inform us of the cancellation.
We do not normally stay in apartments or townhouses, but in Consuegra it's either that or a hostel basically. We shared a townhouse with another couple...very large, 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms with one of each separate on the main floor which was perfect. Despite the huge size of the place, the main floor bathroom was tiny and the shower so tiny that you could hardly even get in it. While the place was very clean and well-equipped, I had been led to believe that we would have a view of the windmills from our balcony or terrace, but there wasn't one (townhouse #9). The place isn't easy to find and the garage difficult to manuver into, but parking in it was free. They only charged us 25 euros per person for the night, so it's really inexpensive. Be aware that breakfast is extra and no food is served other than in the morning. The complex has no elevator and is uphill from the town, so be aware that you will have to carry luggage up flight of stairs. This is not a town or place to stay if you have any mobility problems. Also, there are no phones in the rooms, so you'll have to walk to the reception unit for anything including questions, return of keys, etc. and hope someone's there. The windmills and the castle on the hill/mountain on the edge of town make this a fascinating place to visit.…
Modern small houses with respect for old ones, I really like this place. The houses are well equipated, clean, they have a nice view over the mills. Situated in a very pittoresque neibourghoud, a just a few minutes of the medieval town center and even closer of the great mills. The owners were also very nice and friendly. We'll go back!
This is a small cluster of 4 bedroomed town houses with beautiful kitchens and plenty of space. There are several bathrooms in each house and a very comfortable lounge and dining room. A basic breakfast is offered by the very helpful and friendly owners, they even cooked us Churritos as it was Sunday! A plus is the position which is halfway up the hill on which the windmills and the castle are situated, this makes for a fairly easy walk up to see both.
