This luxurious hotel has a fantastic zen garden with a pavillion, a lake and a stream. Great place for an evening meditation. The rooms are nice and spacious, the night view is amazing from the rooms. The subway is 10 minutes walking distance.

Dear bogric Sama, Thank you for visiting our hotel and for writing a review here. I was happy to read that you considered the service excellent, used the word luxurious for the hotel and enjoyed the garden. The garden is indeed a very special area and makes you forget that you are in the middle of a big city. At...

Stayed here only 1 night and was with a group that arrived around 7 pm for dinner in their La Jardin banquet room. Food was decent, but portions small. Banquet employees were very nice. We were given a room on the 14th floor and upon entering the room, noticed a strong smoke smell. Also, room did not have outlets by...

I am staying at the Chinzanso Tokyo as I write this and I have to say this is by far the best service and most attentive staff I have ever encountered in any of my travels. My family of 4 stayed for 6 nights in August 2016. We had a great time. It’s a proper 5 star hotel with all the facilities (superb pools and gym, absolutely exceptional concierge services even by Japanese standards which are normally excellent, perfect room service, our room was beautiful etc). There’s a really beautiful garden with a temple so try...

This was our second hotel in Tokyo and wish we stayed here the whole time! Building is gorgeous, it is old with a character yet extremely well maintained. There is a big garden and if you are staying at a room with a garden view, a delight to wake up to. Amazing spa facilities with a hot spring outside among...

From the moment we arrived, the service was the finest we experienced in Japan. Staying in Ikebukuro

Neighbourhood Profile
Ikebukuro
Ikebukuro is an area of massive development. Several thousand tenants occupy two giant department stores and shopping malls, where all sorts of shopping and gourmet foods can be enjoyed. The 60-story building at the east entrance of the station, Sunshine City, is a landmark within Ikebukuro and features an aquarium, planetarium, theme park as well as an observation platform. The popular name for the western side of this area is "Otome Road" (Maiden Road) and there are many shops selling products related to anime with a female theme. It has rapidly become the worldwide headquarters for ‘otaku’ or geek culture.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Hotel Chinzanso Tokyo is located uptown in Mejiro. While it is in the heart of Tokyo, the hotel is surrounded by our spacious scenic green garden, which gives the hotel an aura of quiet serenity. The property consists of three buildings: the hotel, the plaza and the tower; and a traditional-style Japanese garden. The hotel has 260 rooms, 36 banquet halls, 5 wedding facilities and 12 restaurants. The garden lets our guests experience the four seasons through its changing colors: camellias bloom in the winter, cherry trees bloom in the spring, fireflies fill the garden in the summer and the leaves change colors in the autumn. Please come and see why so many of our guests are awed by the changes of the seasons in the garden. ... more   less
