Nohga Akihabara was an excellent place to stay for the final leg of our Japan trip. We spent six nights in their superior queen room, which was incredibly comfortable and provided a perfect haven for relaxation after long days exploring Tokyo. What made our stay even more convenient was their ability to receive our luggage from Kyoto four days in advance. This allowed us to stay at other small towns in between Kyoto and Tokyo without worrying about luggage delays. Additionally, they kindly kept our luggage for a few hours after checkout, enabling us to do some final exploration before our flight.
We highly recommend Nohga Akihabara and look forward to staying at other Nohga hotels in Japan during our future visits.
Here are some things I liked and didn’t like about the hotel:
Positives:
- The staff was super friendly and helpful.
- The hotel is in a great location near Tokyo metro stations, as well as some really good restaurants and convenience stores. Ginza, Shibuya and other major areas can be accessed without transferring metro lines which was a huge plus.
- The hotel rooms were really well designed. The shower room was huge, and the bed, pillows, and AC were all very comfortable, even for a longer stay.
- The lounge area had a nice scent that made the room feel really relaxing.
- The room was spacious enough for Tokyo standards.
Areas of improvement:
- The elevator would always stop at the 2nd floor (where the reception is) even though I didn’t want to go there. It was a bit annoying, but it wasn’t a big deal.
- The toothpaste provided was pretty small, maybe enough for 2 brushes. We ended up buying a new toothpaste because we didn’t want to keep taking a toothpaste/toothbrush set and throw out the toothbrushes every day for 6 nights. Not sure if they provided toothpaste only, if so, that would be appreciated.

Thank you for your stay. We are NOHGA HOTEL AKIHABARA TOKYO. We are very happy to hear your compliments. We are a hotel with themes of music, art, and food. We have created a space where our guests can experience these three elements as much as possible during their stay. The smell in the lounge area is an original product of our hotel and is available for sale. We are very sorry that the elevator always stops at the second floor, which causes discomfort to our guests. For security reasons, the elevator stops at the 2nd floor every time. Thank you for your understanding. Also, we can provide you with toothpaste only. Please feel free to ask the front desk staff if you need it. We are looking forward to seeing you again.

Gorgeous hotel in Japan with beautifully designed rooms. If you appreciate art, music, design and details - this is the place for you. Better than any other hotel I’ve stayed at in Tokyo - personality plus! Couldn’t be happier with my stay. Thank you to all the staff for making us feel so welcome.

When you arrived, you’ll see an open concept restaurant. The lobby is located on the second floor. I was hesitant to come in because I thought it was just the restaurant. I honestly hope that there’s a separate entrance for the hotel. The restaurant is always packed. The staff were great.
The room was vintage and really spacious. It was really comfortable. I love how they really created a personalized style and even has a booklet of all the brands they colloborated with. We were on the 10th floor, great view. You could still hear some noises since it was next to a school but it didn’t bother us.
Location was excellent. We were few steps to the main attraction of Akihabara, 5 minute walk to the nearest Tokyo Metro station and to Akihabara station which is 4 stops away to the Nippori station where you could take the express train to the Narita airport.
Probably the best hotel we have stayed in Japan, it was really affordable for what it is worth.

I was in Tokyo for a short trip (3 nights) and needed to find a place in walking distance from/to the office and close to public transport for a connection to NRT airport.
From NRT airport with the Skyliner and a transfer at Nippori took approximately one hour which is very good I believe (first time in Tokyo so can't compare but good by any standard). From the Akihabara station, Google Maps guided me to the entrance in the wrong street (access to the restaurant) but not real issues, it's a 5 minute walk if that. Turned out there are some Italians working in the (Italian) restaurant and that is a good sign.
Checking in was easy, swift and professional. Room was spacious enough and very clean, I was expecting something much smaller in Tokyo. Special treat was the Japanese toilet (I want one at home!). Bed was also not too short for my 1.95m length. On request an ironing board and iron were put in the room, good service. I noticed you can rent a bike here too which is not a bad idea for moving about in the city.
Breakfast is okay, standard choice, not too much, which is actually good.
The bar and (heated) terrace outside are fine, prices reasonable, overall - and goes for the whole of Tokyo - much less expensive than I expected. Rate for 3 nights was just South of JPY 50k which is a good deal.
Next time, I will definitely use this hotel again.

Here on business for a week and overall quite enjoyed my stay. Rooms are small and seriously short of clothing storage space- if you’re here for a night no problem but I ended up laying out all my clothes on the settee, corner table and by the side of the tv! However comfy room, nice shower room and quiet throughout the night.
Downstairs the reception is very a very slick operation with staff who speak English, very friendly and professional. Another floor down is the very busy restaurant which again has some great multilingual staff. If you are on your own as I was it is impossible to get a table for one in the restaurant- one of the servers told me straight, singletons not welcomed at tables but you can sit at the bar if you wish to eat. First time in my lifetime of travelling that this has happened to me.
At breakfast you are allowed to sit at a table and the spread is pretty good, no problem there.
The hotel is situated in central Akihabara and is a five minute walk from the railway station. You are surrounded by many bars and restaurants that fortunately welcome single travellers so I found several places I frequented during my stay.
All in all this is a nice hotel but if it could provide a nicer welcome to single travellers, would elevate its status to international visitors.

This hotel is very close to Akihabra station in the middle of this fascinating part of the city. Despite the central location it is very quite since it is on a small side road. The rooms are bigger than average with modern furniture and a nice bathroom. There is an italian restaurant with authentic pizzas. The breakfast buffet is small, however the food has a very good quality. The staff is very supportive, multilingual and helps if needed. All in all a place, which can be recommended.

Thank you very much for staying at NOHGA HOTEL AKIHABARA TOKYO. We would also like to thank you again for your kind evaluation. We are very pleased to hear that you enjoyed our breakfast, which is one of the food items in our theme of “Music, Art, and Food”. Our breakfast is buffet style and includes freshly baked focaccia, fresh vegetables and fruits. Our hotel is located in Akihabara, a very interesting sub-cultural area, close to tourist attractions such as Ueno and Asakusa. Near the hotel, there is also a Gara-pon Kaikan, a store specializing in Gacha-gacha, which we invite you to visit the next time you stay with us. NOHGA HOTEL AKIHABARA TOKYO

Positives: Great hotel and location. The front desk staff are very friendly and helpful. Rooms are nice and especially the in room shower and amenities.
Challenges: The restaurant staff during breakfast are not well trained and come across rude (unfriendly). The selections during breakfast get boring if you are staying multiple days. The chef and restaurant manager need to improve this. And the staff attending on guests need professional training on the famed Japanese approach to making hotel guests feel welcomed and well attended to during meals. The other challenge is the gym. It is too small and requires a reservation which is a hassle and something the front desk doesn’t explain during check in.

Hotel very well located, with design and modern art, new and the main, all staff sought after and welcoming, establishment strength (Asuka staff was very kind to support us with everything during our stay). It has a restaurant and bar with a pleasant and vibrant atmosphere, with local DJs on 6 a.m. Despite being located in the hustle, the hotel is quiet for being backward on a crossing of Akihabara’s main avenue. Compact but comfortable, quiet and modern rooms.
