Hotel is close to subway and local stores: Family Mart and 7eleven. There is small restaurant with nice food. Breakfast are simple but ok. There is a coin laundry and dryier. It cost 300 yen and 100 yen. Rooms are small but enough for a few days. It would be nice to have free coffee and tea all day or...

A bit further from the tourist spots (e.g.Shinjuku, Shibuya, Ginza). We go by metro, and stop at Jimbocho Station (3 lines for this station), & manage to find the hotel using Waze (a GPS app on mobile). We booked the room a few months ago via Expedia, got it at low price compared to other hotels in Tokyo. We booked...

This hotel and hostel is nothing fancy, but had clean beds and helpful staff. Met some nice people who stayed in the same room as me. Good location and easy to get anywhere with Jimbocho station only about a 2 minute walk away. Breakfast buffet isn't really much of a buffet, but is super inexpensive. I would stay here again...

We stayed here as a family with two adults and two kids. It's a long time since we (the parents) have stayed in any hostels and shared bathrooms but the astronomical cost of accommodation during cherry blossom season forced us back to hostels. It was not a bad experience. Hostels have changed a lot since our backpacking days (20 years...

Travelled with eldest son to celebrate his graduation. Absolutely fabulous Hostel/Hotel. Small rooms but perfectly adequate for our needs. Met many new friends from across the globe in a welcoming friendly atmosphere. Would recommend to anyone wanting a cheap base to visit this awesome city.

The Sakura Hotel and Hostel in Jinbocho features a shared bathroom on each floor, only two laundry machines and instead of the Yamanote Line, you have to take the subway. Personally, I thought it would be a hassle but instead, I enjoyed my stay at Jinbocho. And the price I received for two weeks, I definitely saved a lot of...

Nice room, the dorm is nice. Shower rooms and toilet are small but enough for use, and clean. The room is small cozy, good for youth travellers, but not quite match with family travelling with many luggages. There's toasts complete set, jams, toaster machine, soup, coffee and cold beverages, Mountain Dew is here! The staffs are friendly and helpful, fluent in english....

This hotel is very close to the city centre or the Imperial palace as a guidepost. It's only about 5 minutes walk away from the closest subway station. This is a hotel/hostel kind of facility so if you're looking for a Hyatt style hotel, you'd best look else where and pay way more. Bathroom and toilets are shared per floor....

The internet here was garbage. Yes, you connected to a router. No, you didn't receive functional internet. The internet speed was clocked at a staggering 0.12 Mbps on a Wednesday afternoon when nobody was around. That is as slow as dial-up. In 2016! In Japan! Also, the pleace feels like a college dormitory for the dorkiest weirdos ever. Total melvins...

Neighbourhood Profile
Ochanomizu / Akihabara / Kanda
Ochanomizu boasts its academic foundations starting with Yushima Seido, the birthplace of modern day Japanese education. The area has kept its college town feel with several university campuses. If you head towards Jinbocho, you'll find musical instrument and sports equipment shops, and an area of used bookstores for students and anyone interested in literature and the arts. Akihabara is well-known for its computer and electronic goods stores, and is now hugely popular as the must-visit mecca for people interested in anime and games. Kanda is an office district where you can find loads of reasonably priced izakayas popular with professionals who stop to eat and drink before making their way home.
