Breakfast was a little disappointing from a Westerners point of view, but what was available was nice.
There is a small restaurant and Bar (same place as Breakfast) that is available.
Hotel is well situated in Ginza, only a short walk to the shops, a slightly longer walk to the Imperial Palace.
There are multiple Metro stations nearby making it very easy to get around Tokyo from here.
Staff were very helpful.
About the room, it’s too small. Specially, stay for single person room. The cleanliness of room is fair. They will clean it everyday by your request. The bed is too soft. All amenities are provided.
I think the hotel is good for budget; but need to aware the size of room.
I was shocked and offended, treating people so disrespectful, just unacceptable !!!
This was the definitely worst experience I had during my whole trip in Japan.
These books were actually written by the CEO of APA Hotels. Quite how this chain has gotten away with placing such vile material in hotel rooms in 2017 is beyond me. If hotels in Germany were to supply books/materials that denied the Holocaust... well, you get my drift.
If, however, you're like us and you've booked this hotel without being aware of its racist contents and therefore stuck with staying here, or if you're okay with supporting this kind of thing, here's a small review on our time spent here.
The hotel is up to date, clean, modern, has everything you need. However the rooms are embarrassingly small, as is the bed. We read the reviews beforehand and knew what we were getting ourselves in for, however the reality is that nothing will ever prepare you for quite how small these rooms really are. The pillows are (I wish I was joking) the same width as the TV remote. Our top tip was to fold them in half to make them ever so slightly more comfortable. The izakaya (cafe/bar) within the hotel advertises food that isn't actually available. Despite all of the reviews saying its close to Tokyo Station; it really isn't close to Tokyo Station. Unless your idea of close is a good 15/20 minute walk away. It is however close to Kyobashi Metro Station.
Bottom line: don't waste your money.
I was very impressed by how tidy and convenient the room is, especially given its very small size. There is not a lot of space for luggage in the room, but it has everything a budget-conscious traveler could need (except for maybe a safe), while maintaining cleanliness, safety, and a convenient location. My standard room included a hot wanter pot, instant tea and coffee, a robe, a great heater / air conditioner, luggage stand, slippers (reusable from previous guests, rather than disposable), scented spray bottle, a comfortable and clean bed, standard bathroom amenities (Japanese-style washlet toilet, towels, toothbrushes, razor, hairband, cotton balls, etc.), clothes hangers (on the wall, rather than in an armoire or closet, since there's no room for that), and a huge TV (although with limited content in English, as is the norm in most Japanese hotels). Again, I was very impressed with the cleanliness of the room and entire property.
Self-service laundry, vending machines (including food and drink), ice, and microwaves available centrally in the building, although I did not use any of these.
Walking time to the main train station (including local, regional, and national trains and busses) is 10-15 minutes. I did not experience the hotel's restaurant, which offers all three meals each day, since there were many local options available, offering more selection at comparable or lower prices. Multiple 24-hour convenience stores and fast food within a 15 minute walk, including (but not limited to) in the train station.
Hotel charges 1,000 Yen per hour prior to 3PM or after 11AM for early check-in or late check-out, respectively.
Keep in mind that there is a 1,000 Yen bus to and from the airport available from the train station, which takes about as much time (1hr 15 min) to reach the Narita airport (NRT) as the express train, which costs 3,000 Yen.
I would gladly stay here again if I were looking for a convenient and efficient spot in Ginza and/or near to the train station. I would consider looking elsewhere if I were traveling as a couple with large luggage and/or if were looking for a location with local character / culture.
The staff are very friendly at the hotel. The rooms are of an average size for Japanese hotels and are kept clean. I appreciated that they had an eco policy of not changing linen too often. High-speed wi-fi is something I expect in a hotel these days and this hotel has a very stable connection. Not something that every hotel can boast.
If you're looking for a comfortable, convenient location to use as a home base during your stay, you could do far worse than the APA Hotel Ginza Kyobashi.
I paid extra to book in early and paid for late checkout which I needed but really what do the Managers think that customers want. There was no sugar for tea or coffee, no room service, little in the way of food for non Japanese people. Hooks to hang clothes on and the TV seems only to work if you paid for it. WiFi was very good though.
Would I stay there again........hell no! There also was not enough chairs at Reception for guests waiting and one got the feeling that this was Lilliput land.
Location is nice and close to shopping but its the shopping that you get throughout the World with the big fashion houses and the big prices. Nothing Japanese about it at all.
It is centrally located, within walking distance to the Tokyo station, and with 3 different metro lines in a 5 /10 min walk.
Plenty of supermarkets close.
The only drawback is the existence of only one elevator, and no stairs.
Highly recommended.
