We stayed for four night in total at this hotel. The location is good as others have said and we paid less than £100 PN these are the main reasons we would book again.
The negatives:
Rooms are very small, however this is common in Japan. Not a problem for us as we are used to living together.
Air conditioning was set to heating only during our stay, no option to change this. If you open the window it will be noisy.
The walls are thin and people come and go at silly hours, if you are a light sleeper bring ear plugs.
The beds are comfortable but get very warm. The pillows are average but suit the soft bed.
If you have the fridge on over night it's noisy.
Only three plug sockets in the room, can not charge camera, two phones and our portable wifi device at the same time.
The toilet paper is like tin foil.

The positives:
This hotel is right outside exit B4 of Higashi-Nihombashi station. Location is good but not as good as Shinjuku, Shibuya etc
Price is cheap compared to other hotels in the city, for your money this is an excellent option.
There is a 7eleven and a DailyYamzaki (small shop) right outside and a cosmetic/medicine store just up the street.
The reception staff mostly speak very good English. Very helpful.
Loads of free extras provided in the bathroom, eg; toothbrushes, razors, cotton buds, body/hair soap etc this is common in Japan.

Top tips:
Ask for a room on the upper floors to lessen road noise.
Ask for a room away from the elevator on each floor to avoid noise.
Check if the hotel air con is set to hot or cold air. The hotel chooses depending on time of year.

Conclusion:
For the price we paid (Under £100 a night) it was excellent value for money. We were sight seeing all day and into the night so didn't spend loads of time in the room. I would be tempted to try another hotel next time if funds allowed but would have no problem defaulting to this one for the same price.
If you are coming from an airport check your arrival time because trains stop in Tokyo around 23:50 and a taxi to this hotel from Haneda would cost about £40.

Please click thumps up if this help you decide.

Thank you for you stayed with us for four night. We are glad that sounds like you enjoy your staying. But we are sorry for you could not change your air con was just warm. It will not be summer season so please do not worry about it. You already said it but our lacartion is pretty good to go most of place in Tokyo include Shinjuku. Actually from our hotel to Shinjuku is very easy to go. You need to take Toei Shinjuku line from Bakuro Yokoyma where one of our hotel main staion to Shinjuku. It gose to direct from Bakuro Yokoyama staion. Thank you for such a nice comments! We hope to see you again!! Best regard Clerk Kawagoe

The hotel is located in a rather strategic spot with access to 3 adjacent Train/subway station (Higashi-Nihonbashi JR Station, Bakurocho Subway Station, Bakuroyokoyama subway station). Plus, we can directly take the Toei Asakusa Line Access to Narita Airport without transit, which is a huge advantage if you are traveling with huge luggage. The room is clean, neat and quiet too.

We visited this hotel in mid-February. In my opinion, this hotel is perfect for a very specific type of clients – for 1.) the tourists that watch the budget and 2.) they come to the hotel to sleep only. Hotel’s location is pretty good as it’s close to few metro stations and therefore, to many Tokyo attractions. The room was so small that it was totally not enjoyable, but the price was right! So, we came to our room late at night, took a quick shower, went to sleep and left early in the morning. Our room was clean, quiet, bathroom big enough for one person. They provide all toiletries that one needs, which is nice. 7-11 is just next door with great & cheap sandwiches and drinks. Also, few amazing local Japanese restaurants (do yourself a favour and visit them, we wish we would go there more) and Domino pizza are just few steps away. Would I stay here again? I would love to say “no”, but I am afraid that in reality I actually would because – for the price - there was really nothing wrong with this place. Here are some helpful hints about the location of this hotel: Metro station that is next to the hotel is connected to both airports. Be sure to purchase a 48 hour metro pass for tourists (at the airport); it’s very helpful. Absolutely worth every penny, as you can ride as much you want and no need to watch balance on the card. Asakusa Temple area is three metro stops away. Akihabara (Electric City) is one metro stop away. Shibuya was about 15 min by metro. Tokyo station (if you go on Shinkansens) is about 15 min metro ride with one train change. Enjoy.

I'm writting from the hotel so angry.
We have paid for a room with Breakfast but the last day we need to leave the hotel before Breakfast time (that starts at 7:00). I have visited more than 50 hotels in almost 20 countries and always they give me a Breakfast bag in these cases.
In this hotel they don't help us with this service we paid for, and they also said that they can't give back my money.
Furthermore, the pillows are horrible and the rooms so small.

Thank you for staying at our hotel. The restaurant is another company that we do not operate, so it is inflexible to take away services. In addition, if you consult us in advance about refund, you should have been able to refund. We strive to make your stay as comfortable as possible. If you have any questions or concerns, please consult with the time manager in advance. * There are things that cannot be judged by ordinary employees who are not the time manager, such as refunds (contents involving money) like this time. My previous post was deleted by the owner on google reviews!! As I am still staying in this hotel, this is how bad I cant tolerate it that I have to post here!

Besides the location convenience, the price I paid for with the following adding salt to the wound, definitely not worth the price I paid for!

1. Slow WiFi connection
2. Different types of hair on the bedsheets when I 1st got into the room
3. Cramped and small room
4. Stained carpet and walls
5. Faulty bathroom tap
6. Dusty and dirty table top and bed headrest that worsen my sinus
7. Unapologetic and expressionless duty manager when I showed him video and photos of how dusty and dirty my room
8. Small and cramped bathroom
9. The pillow cases have this sewing right at the neck area when you lie on it that makes you very uncomfortable
10. Poor communication from hotel. Requested for a non smoking room, which I was only told that the request was rejected even though prior to my arrival, the hotel had emailed me 3x asking and telling me all other things except the rejection of my request.

Looking at how my previous post was deleted says quite a lot of the ethics and integrity of the hotel's management!

Very bad experience.
In front of the window in the room, the building on the neighboring property was being demolished. From 8:00 a.m. onwards, you can no longer sleep because of the loud noise. The air conditioning is switched off at night and only blows out hot air so that you sweat at night.
It is unbearable in the rooms for two people because the CO2 content in the air increases so much when the air conditioning is switched off that you get a headache and wake up at night.
The rooms are extremely small (10 square meters including the bathroom!).
Despite complaining, there was no partial refund at reception.
We were advised to change hotels.
The headaches had a major impact on our next day of travel.

READ if you are a foreigner booking through non-APA website or systems.

I travel to Japan frequently but my preferred hotel chain is always selling out, so I was looking for an alternative chain. APA fits the bill well but my first experience was anything pleasurable and the business practice was unethical by western standards.

First the good thing that earn it an extra star:
1) very convenient location - the hotel is literally above the Higashi Nihombashi Station. Note - Akihabara was about 20 min by walking but not easy to reach by train. No line services Akihabara station pass through this hotel in a reasonable walk, so it's easier just to walk to Akihabara instead of taking an out of way train
2) small but practical - this budget chain definitely has small room even by Japanese standards. However, it's just above being impractical, so the small size is manageable. Furnishing is also relative new, ample and modern.

Now onto the bad things:
1) No English booking site - APA runs an online booking site but it's only in Japanese. For visitors/foreigner that do not read Japanese, you will likely book through a third party website like it did. In my case it was hotels.com group of Expedia, and this leads to a serious issue below.

2) Will not honor prepaid breakfast - APA does NOT include free breakfast but provides an optional breakfast-included higher rate. Being that this hotel is near the business district, I was concerned I may not have food options on weekends, so I booked the higher breakfast-included rate on hotels.com and brought a paper printout of my confirmation. The APA staff refused to honor the breakfast and say that they don't offer breakfast included rate and breakfast is always extra, which is a lie as confirmed by a Japanese friend. When I raised the issue to the staff, they refused to fix it, even though I had a printed confirmation indicate Breakfast and Free Internet are included. The staff argued that just indicate Breakfast and Internet are offered amenity and not included. Their read of the confirmation email shows their inability to comprehend written English. As someone travel 2/3 of the year, the breakfast included marking on my confirmation was clear as it gets.

3) unethical and convoluted business practice with Expedia - I asked the hotel to address the breakfast issue but they kept deferring me to hotel.com/Expedia but was told the opposite information that paid breakfast was transmitted to the hotel. Whether an error occurred or not, I was caught between the hotel and their booking partner with each pointing finger at the other. I asked the hotel to honor the breakfast as a good-well since I am only staying one night but they refused. Consider I paid a sky-high rate (due to high demand on the day in question), the hotel made enough money to cover the breakfast as a good will (since it's just one night) to resolve this but they refused again and wanted to charge me additional money to get a breakfast voucher. It was very clear this happens frequently and the hotel and/or hotels.com/Expedia is making extra money from this. The hotel staff knew I was visiting that I probably wanted to visit the area instead of spending time to get to the bottom of this, so they deliberately made this as difficult as possible, so I would give up. I did give up because I rather spend my evening visiting the town instead of arguing about breakfast. No ethical business would argue against printed confirmation which clearly indicate breakfast is included in my booking. If it a system mistake did occur, for a one night stay guest who is looking for a new hotel chain, it would smart just to resolve the issue...but they don't want or care to.

4) no individual controlled AC - on my arrival day, weather in Tokyo was very warm and sweaty. The in-room AC unit would not put out cold air and actually put out hotel air. Thermostat was stuck in heating mode. When I inquired about this, the staff told me there is NO way to change it because the cooling or heating mode is centrally controlled. My own option was to open the window to cool, but because the high floor, the window does not open fully (for safety I assume), so it barely opens a crack and not enough to cool down the room. I was suffering 90+°F temperature in the room and literally felt heat exhaustion.

Overall, APA really disappointed me through the unethical business practice and further made it extremely uncomfortable by force heat the room in very warm weather. My search for a reliable Japan hotel chain continues..

If you are booking through a non-APA site, I urge you not to book the breakfast rate and just book the bare room rate. If you fancy the hotel breakfast, you can always pay it when you arrival. I found the two convenient stores next to the hotel provides a lot of afford breakfast items. The 1000YEN+tax charge for lackluster breakfast set here would surely be enough to feed 2 to 3 people at the convenient store.

I stayed at this hotel in July 2018, got an awesome rate for 1 person with no breakfast on Expedia for $95 AUD a night for a double room.

Hotel is very new and located in a quieter part of Tokyo, but you effectively get three stations at your doorstep with this hotel: Higashi-Nihombashi, Bakurochō and Bakuroyokoyama. This may be a little confusing at first but these three stations are all linked underground with easy access to the hotel (once you work it out!). Higashi-Nihombashi is on the Asakusa metro line with direct access to Narita, Bakurochō is on the Shinjuku metro line so good access to Shinjuku station and Bakuroyokoyama station is on a JR line which I used to get from the Shinkansen train at Tokyo station to the hotel as well as going to Kamakura and Yokohama.

The benefits of having all these transport links negated the location being a little bit quieter in my opinion. Station exit A4 had a lift which is good for luggage and brings you up to an area behind the hotel. From memory Exit B4 was the one closest to the entrance to the hotel but only has stairs.

The hotel itself is very modern and clean, the room was small but I believe everyone looking at this hotel would already know that, the bathroom had all the usual amenities - toothbrush / toothpaste, comb, shower gel etc, PJ's and slippers. The room had a bar fridge, dehumidifier and A/C. The bed itself was comfortable but I did have to put the two pillows together as i found them too low otherwise. There was a TV in the room which had BBC world news, and there was free Wifi in the room which did need to re-connect a couple times to.

In the immediate area you have a 7/11 convenience store right outside the front entrance complete with ATM for getting cash out; as well as a supermarket located behind the hotel (you walk past it when you exit the train station at A4). There are a number of restaurants in the area which all looked good but I was always out and about in other parts of Tokyo so didn't try them there is a Doutor for coffee across the street and a Dominos pizza a couple doors down if you are so inclined.

I enjoy walking on my trips so I walked up to the Akihabara area from the hotel, it took me about 15 minutes. I also walked to Ameya Yokocho markets (about 25 minutes). Around the corner from the hotel on Asakusabashi there is a really good coffee place called "Bridge coffee" and it was the best coffee I had all trip, if you can find it, it is worth going to.

The staff at the hotel were all friendly and spoke English. The room was serviced pretty quickly when I was out, they had a sign for a green service you could stick on your door when you left. This meant they changed the towels and PJ's but would leave the sheets on your bed, if you did this they gave you a bottle of water to say thanks. I didn't mind this as I don't need my sheets changed every night, but interestingly they left the bed un-made, I assumed that they would still make the bed but leave the existing sheets on; wasn't a biggie but thought I would point that out if you went green with your room servicing.

One other little quirk I noticed; We had really hot weather when I was in Japan. The Front entrance/lobby of the hotel had A/C but the common areas immediately outside my hotel door seemingly did not, so they were noticeably warmer. Again not a biggie, but thought I would mention.

When I checked out, the front desk we're very helpful and looked after my luggage for the day. When I came back to the hotel I picked up my luggage and took it downstairs to Higashi-Nihombashi station and caught the train to Narita which takes just over an hour travel time. All very easy.

All in all, I enjoyed my stay at this hotel. I think the price coupled with the location to Akihabara as well as the good transport links make it a good choice. The room is small and perhaps if I was travelling with someone else that might of been more of a factor, but for what you are paying I would stay here again.

After arriving at Higashi- Nihombashi at 10 pm at night, after a days travel from Australia, with 2 loaded suitcases and heavy backpacks, we walked up the stairs attempting to figure out where our hotel was. To our surprise it was there, across the road from the station, and with a 711 not one minute away.
This hotel was like home for our 6 days in Tokyo. The room was small but practical. The matress was extremely comfortable and the blanket warm and soft. My only gripe was the pillows were flat and hard, but this was fixed omce we asked for different ones. The hotel was fully equipped with vending machines, microwaves on certain levels and mini fridges in the room. Our room also had a large flat screen for us to watch the olympics on and free wifi! They also provided shampoo, conditioner, razors, toothbrushes and even hairties for free. The staff were friendly and helpful.
In terms of location i can not rate this place high enough. It is away from the bustle of main Tokyo but still has a city feel and some amazing restraunts close by. There is also great access to transport and various locations in walking distance.
In conclusion, i highly reccomend this place to stay if you want a somewhat authentic japanese experience as a tourist in Tokyo.

Accessibility to Narita Airport, hop onto the Asakusa line for direct access (no change required if you are on right train) to Narita Airport.

The hotel is right in front of the B4 stairs-exit if you are at Higashi-Nihimbashi or Bakuroyokoyama Stations. If you have heavy luggage, go round the block and you will find a lift to access the same train station without having to lug everything down the steps

Room is adequate & super tight even with just one suitcase. Front desk can be friendlier
