This is a nice hotel that provides everything you would want from a hotel. It has free coffee in the lobby and breakfast you can get for an additional cost, but we didn’t try that. The only problem we had with this hotel is that the room is quite small, even for Tokyo standards. We also happened to be here during the Hagabis typhoon, and with the window only opening about 10-12cm, the room quickly got warm and humid. Aside from that, it’s close to many things, like convenience stores and restaurants. From narita, you only need to get one train to come to the station closest to the hotel, so that was very convenient. Also, because the area doesn’t lie too close to tourist attractions and is situated in a side street, it’s very quite.
Nice hotel, a little hard to find at first. A lot of fab restaurants and bars around shimbashi. Room was typically small, it is Tokyo after all. Bathroom was modern, great shower. The bed was a little hard for me, but was fine for hubby. Reception staff were helpful. Breakfast was communal but food was good. Loved the free water and coffee (24 hours) in the lobby
Whilst the rooms are very small they have everything you need and are clean. The staff are very friendly and the suggestions they gave for food and sightseeing were excellent. They supply fridge and kettle and tea in the room, coffee is available in the reception area for free. We didnt have the breakfast but it did look like good value for money albeit eaten in the reception area which can get quite busy. The hotel has good links to the station and is in an intersting area with plenty of restaurants to chose from.
We stayed here for 8 nights in total in 2 different rooms - standard twin and superior double. although both options indicate that the room can accommodate 2 adults and 2kids, the superior works better as there is a little more space for luggage etc. standard twin felt a little squeeze for us, 2 adults and 1 child. although the bed sizes were the same. hope this may help those trying to choose between the room types. Servjce wise - the B Shimbashi has a great team - everyone was friendly and helpful and it felt very cosy. Location - there are many many F&B options around - we loved it! it was a little tricky finding the hotel on the first day we arrived - but once we found it and familiarise ourselves with the area, it was a short walk to the subway/train station - very convenient. from NRT, we took the Keisei direct line to Shimbashi station (no need to change train or bus). It was very convenient. Going back, we had wanted to do the same but Keisei line had a breakdown and we have to switch plans. Took the train to Tokyo station and then took the NEX to narita. Slight inconvenience but still ok. Would I stay here again? Very likely!…
The B is a fairly new hotel. It has a friendly atmosphere, an outstanding location, and a good price. Just be aware that the room is small. Although this is true for most Tokyo hotels, I found this one to be (almost) too much. It was ok for my wife and I for 4 nights, but you barely have space to arrange your clothes. The rooms ending in "1" are slightly bigger. I would still recommend it, specially for the location. The hotel is surrounded by three metro stations ( of different lines). The Shimbashi station is on the all important JR Yamanote line, and only 2 stops from Tokyo Station. The hotel is also very near Hibiya park, which virtually connects with the Imperial Palace, for several kilometers of running or walking. Service: Arriving by Shinkansen into Tokyo Station is a breeze. Your ticket is valid on the Yamanote line. Two more stops and you arrive. If going to or from Narita, I would strongly suggest taking the Tokyo Shuttle bus. Japanese efficiency but on a bus, and costing only 1000 yen. The bus starts (or ends) at Tokyo Station too, just outside the metro entrance.…
