Shiodome seems like it's out of the way, although it's very well connected and the trains leaving the area make it very easy to go to Shinjuku, Shibuya, etc.. The hotel itself might seem basic, but if you've stayed in Japan a few times, you'll realize this hotel actually offers a big room. The breakfast in the morning is plenty sufficient, although you'll find the big open area it's held in to be a bit cold in the winter. Also, the Shiodome offers elevated walkways that connect with other neighborhoods, and this makes it much easier to get around. You will be walking lots of stairs though. I was able to walk to many areas and explore at night. The area around the hotel is sparse though, but there is a small mall in the Concorde building next to it. This most likely is where I'll stay if I return and I've stayed in other places in more central areas like Shibuya.

This was my first trip to Tokyo and I was so excited and nervous! I booked another hotel and it was horrible and small and I went online and found the villa Fontaine and it changed my experience for the better!! I had the best time there ! The hotel is stunning , the staff is incredible , caring, considerate and so warm! I stayed there for almost 3 weeks and when I left I felt like I was leaving home😥!! Myself and some of the staff were crying when I left and they gave me a beautiful oragami as a parting gift! I can’t wait to go back to see my new Japanese family!! Thank you for such an amazing experience !! 😘😘

The staff were so helpful upon checked in. We were in a rush for dinner and helped us to send all our luggages to one of the rooms. One of the staff surprised the kids with the kids amenities which was very thoughtful.

Nothing fancy about the room. It is small (esp consider hotel not in the central Tokyo), super standard (even for tea/coffee in the room has no spoon). TV also just Japanese TV, and put on your side bed (instead of in front). Toilet is clean though small. Quite descent if it is just for sleeping, good bed (hard which I prefer). Public lobby is huge, not representing what is in the room Location is very good, just next to train station. Can to go Airport by purchasing ticket for bus shuttle at next hotel (Conrad, but the staff may not be that friendly) . Location is not crowded as next to Sumitomo (?) office building
